On the 10/7 Dream Next Week - Hurricane Matthew????

Pretty amazing/disappointing that DCL has yet to make any announcement in response to PC closure, with less than 48 hours until this major storm hits PC area.

Pretty amazing is right.

Disney won't even use the word, "Hurricane."

While the rest of the world is monitoring a Cat 4 Hurricane, Disney is monitoring "tropical weather."

Very disappointed in them! If safety is important you would think they would keep us in the loop. Obviously I want everyone safe.

I'm supposed to be on this sailing and I just had my Southwest flight cancelled. We were supposed to be leaving tomorrow evening.

The Dream
It will be interesting to see what they do with the Dream if they can't make it back to PC on Friday. With how large this storm is and how close it is forecasted to be to Florida east coast, getting back to PC on time might be tricky; especially if the port is still closed. I'm sure DCL is scrambling to find a temporary home for the Dream while it rides out the storm.

heard from someone on the Dream right now - they have only heard rumors of a 5th sea day if PC is still closed. Captain to make an announcement at the show tonight.

For anyone and everyone that has a cruise scheduled soon, I feel for you. It has to be frustrating especially if flying. Flights are going to get canceled, rescheduled, delayed. All of which could impact making it to your sailing. Then, no clue the ships can even get to port let alone leave. Then the decision where they can sail to.

That's what's going on with me. My flight has been cancelled and I'm just waiting it out to see what happens so I can try and reschedule if I need to.

Word on the street is that Disney is currently in meetings about their plan of action and will have updated info before 6:00pm eastern tonight. So for those with cancelled flights hopefully information will be coming out very soon.

  • Tropical Weather Update

    October 5, 2016 – 4:30 p.m.
Based on the projected path of Hurricane Matthew, as well as its expected impact on the Bahamas, Disney Cruise Line is making the following adjustments to itineraries:

    Disney Dream
    • The October 3 sailing of the Disney Dream is being extended by one day, as Port Canaveral will not be available for the ship’s scheduled arrival on Friday, October 7. We are now planning to disembark in Port Canaveral on Saturday, October 8, once the Coast Guard has determined that the port is safe for cruise ship operations. We are working with the guests onboard to assist them with their travel arrangements.
    • The October 7 sailing of the Disney Dream from Port Canaveral is being cancelled. Refunds will automatically be processed back to the original form of payment used for cruise bookings. Guests are invited to call us at 1-866-325-3905 or 407-566-7032 beginning Monday, Oct. 10, to book a future cruise at a discount.
    Disney Magic
    • The October 7 sailing of the Disney Magic from New York is being changed to a Canadian itinerary, with plans to visit Sydney, Nova Scotia; Halifax, Nova Scotia; and Saint John, New Brunswick. Guests who remain on this revised itinerary will receive an onboard credit. Guests who would like to rebook a future sailing at a discount OR cancel their sailing for a full refund are invited to call us at 1-866-325-3905 or 407-566-7032.
    Disney Fantasy
    • The October 8 Disney Fantasy sailing from Port Canaveral to the eastern Caribbean is expected to sail as scheduled. We will continue to monitor the weather and make any necessary adjustments.
While we always strive to deliver magical cruise vacations, nothing is more important to us than providing a safe experience for our guests and crew. We will continue to closely monitor Hurricane Matthew and provide updates as necessary.

I am so sorry to everyone who was meant to be on this sailing though it is a relief to know you all will be safe. :(

So sorry for everyone planning to take this cruise who have had plans changed because of the hurricane. Hopefully the discount on a future cruise will be substantial. I'm with Aquadame in being glad everyone is safe.

As well as the option of rebooking with a discount off a future cruise, or cancelling for a full refund.

I think it's great they offering the option of a full refund on the Magic. If I was on this cruise I would be over the moon with the itinerary change.... I realize that's not so thrilling for a lot of people that were hoping to go the Bahamas. I think they should offer people the option of a full refund on the Oct 8 cruise. If I wasn't leaving for my Med cruise tomorrow. I'm sure I would have booked this cruise since they were offering some discounts, and that's generally how I book. I have no flipping idea how I would have made it to this cruise though coming from the west coast with flights cancelling. I think I would have had to have left yesterday.
