Worth to go to a park in December if you are arriving on a Sat? Or would it be better to resort hop and check out the Christmas decorations.

Sure - we do it all the time. However, my advice is to save the MK for another day as Saturdays there are often very crowded. However, if that is the only day (or time) that you can catch the Spectromagic Parade, I'd go to the MK anyway. Maybe start out at another park and hop over later just to see the parade.

FWIW, we love visiting the resorts to check out the decorations. This is a very viable option, especially if you are staying several days and can visit the parks on weekdays.

Have fun -

P.S. I assumed you would be visiting in early December or at least not during the very crowded Christmas - New Year's week.

We are going Dec 4-10. Since we are arriving on a Sat. We were thinking of resort hopping that day to take pictures of all the decorations. Since we are staying at the WL, I thought we could take pictures of the resorts closer to the other parks instead of MK since we will have a rental car. The thing is, will the resorts let you park just to take pictures and if so how long?

Depends what kind of tix you have and what time you are arriving?

If you have PH's or PHP's and are arriving early in the AM, then yes, it's worth it. But if you are arriving midday to late then no, it's not worth wasting a day on your passes.

If you have legnth of stay passes, then sure head on over to a park!

Sure - shouldn't be a problem at most of the resorts. If the security CM at the resort entrance questions you (probably won't at most of the resorts), just tell him what you want to do. Worst that could happen is that you will get a 3 or 4 hour parking pass. That usually only happens when the parks are crowded and 12/4 - 12/10 is not very busy. Disney does discourage parking at a resort to go to a park (takes up spaces the resort guests need), but encourages you to visit, shop and dine at the resorts.

Have fun!

P.S. Be sure to see the decorations at the GF, the BW and AKL. Those plus WL are my favorites. The BC & YC & Swan/Dolphin are absolutely worth a visit, too. And don't forget about Downtown Disney - it's really quite festive during the holiday season.
