Hi,
We booked our cruise through DVC using points, was just wondering when is the members reception that they have. I don't want to miss it, but also trying to plan spa things as well.

I have heard it is worth going to for some fun a free giveaways. I use the term free loosely after paying for the membership.

On our Eastern Cruise last August, our DVC gathering was on Sunday morning. We had so many DVC'ers on our cruise, that two meetings were held on Sunday morning. We had our character breakfast, so we attended the second meeting. It was fun and we had a good time.

We went to the DVC Members' Reception on the 2/21 Eastern cruise. It was held on Sunday morning at 10:00 am in Diversions. They handed out nice red DVC baseball caps, T-shirts and mouse pads. We got there late (we were having our DIS meet on Deck 7), but we were still able to get all the stuff I listed above. The DVC reps handed out new point charts and answered questions.

We also received DVC lanyards in our stateroom on the first day along with an invitation to the reception.

If you don't book using points, but are a DVC member...how do they know to invite you?

Is there a DVC member reception on the 3- and 4-day cruises?

If you didn't book with points, they don't know to invite you. We went up to the person at the DVC desk and identified ourselves as members and recd the invite..

On the 3/20 Eastern , we got hats and key chains, plus the lanyards.

What was the lanyard like ? Did it have a plastic sleeve to put your KTTW card in ? Do you 1 or 2 ?

We went on a 3 and 4 night cruise with points and never went to a reception or found anything in our room. Is this just on the 7? Our Eastern is May 1st so we're getting excited! Would be even cooler if we got something for free!!!

The DVC is a "social event " but if you want to add on points , they are happy to make you a deal..

We had rolls and coffee and then everyone got hats and lanyards, one for each member of the family. The lanyards are the same type that we got a members days last summer with a plastic pouch to keep the KTTW card. This one was Pink . WE had a fun quiz. Every family had a number and they would call the numbr and ask you a WDW or DVC question. Like name of the water slide at BWV. First DVC resort and year it opened. Cost of first points.

We all helped the person answer the question if they didn't know the answer and then that person got a prize. Some got Tshirts, water bottles, fanny packs. all with DVC logo. Then they talked about the onboard special for add on points On our cruise, 3/20, they offered a $ 10 per point credit if we bought add on points at SSR onboard.

Hope this helps. There are other presentations onboard and one is specifically for add ons. We went to that one too and got a water bottle.
