OMG- Zhu Zhu Pets are they the new Cabbage Patch Kids????

I would seriously be contacting corporate because if they are on the shelf they have to sell them to you unless they are legally recalled through CPSC. They can't say "Well we changed our minds and decided not to sell them today." That is so bogus. Sorry you had to deal with that but please follow up with a call or email to corporate to let them know what this store is doing.

I think they can do that - 'cause I know when things aren't in the system - they are blocked until a certain date & time - just like books & CD's have a rstreet release date & if they are sold before that (and get caught)they get a hefty fine.

Do you think they will be going onsale online Sunday at 12:01am or will everything just be in the stores? The closest 24 hour Walmart to me is not exactly a place I want to be hanging out at midnight.

At my Walmart there is a sign on the rack where the Zhu zhus go saying:

Zhu Zhu pets will be available Sunday 11/8
8am at the photo counter
limit 1 per customer

Anyone know if this is going to be just in select stores?

I called the WalMart in Pine Bluff, AR and asked about the Sunday sale. They were super nice but said they hadn't heard anything about it and they didn't have any pets in-stock at all.

:confused3

If Walmart can violate Disney's video sales policy than they can allow this woman to buy the items they have out on the shelf. IMO

It must be a reginal thing because I just checked my local ad online and Zhu Zhu pets are not in it.

Ditto.... I just checked all the ads for 24-hr Wal-Marts in a 30 mile radius of me and nothing about Zhu Zhu pets in any ad :confused3:confused3

Wondering if I should try my luck and show up @ the local one @ midnight tomorrow?????

DH came upon the funhouse by chance Thursday morning when he swung by Wal-mart on his way to work @ 4am... that's all I've got so far along with Mr. Squiggles (won off ebay)... hoping for the ball, car/garage, and one more hamster for my other DD....

I decided not to bother with the store -- just won a hamster on ebay for DD for $20. I know it's 2x more than retail price, but it's worth my time to not have to deal with it.

My 24-hour walmart brochure has the hamster on the front page as part of the toy guide promo picture -- not printed inside.

Check your craigslists too. It irks me to even think of giving the people who run in and buy everything just to make a penny off of it but I've seen them in my local list for $20.. and obviously there'd be no shipping b/c most craigslist is pickup.

Same thing here. The little girl on the front is holding a hamster, but there is no text referring to a sale, or WalMart having them in stock. I also checked the store ads for several other zip codes and the ad is the exact same.

Ack! I just checked out local Craigslist and the pets are going for $25-30 each. That's higher than ebay! Crazy!

It does make me mad that ican't find one anywhere but I did pay less than $20 and I managed to get accessory pieces here and there w/o waiting in lines etc. I work so standing outside a store before it opens is not an option for me. At least I'm done now!

Kind of OT but I had been on the search for over 2 months for these little guys for a fundraiser basket for my DDs school. Each class has to put together a basket and our basket is ZhuZhus and includes the Funhouse, wheel, car and garage, Adventure ball, surfboard and sleep dome, one of each of the original 4 hamsters and 2 beds.

I thought I did good, however at set up tonight none of the other moms had ever heard of them!! I will be very disappointed if no one bids on it. If that basket is going for less than $100 I will bid on it myself!!

I was lucky enough to be walking through a walmart (4th one that day!) on my way to work two weeks ago and the shelf was stocked. Was able to get one of each for my DD's and then a nearby TRU had all the accessories in stock with the hamsters. Seems like a bunch of luck was on my side that day!!

Good luck to all and I also suggest trying to buy them online at TRU or walmart.......

I love the Disboards:worship: I did the trick of checking availability at Target this morning for Zhu Zhu pets and for the first time showed availability at my closest Target. Granted, you don't know how many items available or what they are, but I went when they first opened and sure enough lots of pets and some accessories. I scored big time for my 6 grandkids. Thanks to all you posters that help us shop smart.

I did one for my son's school a few weeks ago. We had everything but the car/garage and grey hamster. The basket brought $195.00. I honestly was hoping for more, but still glad it made a profit.

Good luck!

Am I the only one who is a little creeped out by them? :o
