OMG - Its COLD!

It looks like the cold weather is on the move again. It'll be down to 21 tonight in SC, much too cold for us!:scared1:

Right now we're at -2 with a windchill of -21. Tomorrow, we've got a high of ONE degree and a low of -12. Sunday our high is a whopping 3 degrees with a low of -14. Ughhhh - is it July yet?! :upsidedow

If it was 40 here, I would be laying out getting a tan. :goodvibes

I wouldn't be out tanning but it would be PLENTY warm for this time of the year.

It is -13 with a windchill of -27 here right now. This is as cold as it has been for quite a while (a couple years) here.

Well, I woke up to -37 straight temp this morning. No wind yet. Yes, I love living here. It is beautiful!! 2 feet of white sparking snow and sun through the pine trees. It will get colder at times in January and Feb. but spring is always going to come.

Yes, I live in Brrrmidji,MN!! Winter is a fun time for us with hockey, curling, skating, snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing and anything else we can do outside. Crackling fires and hot cocoa!! Just like a Christmas card for 5 months. It sometimes drops to -50 below, add a 10 mile an hour wind and you get windchills in the -70 below range!! Been here all my life.

You must live up north. We were visiting my Grandpa in Bemidji several years ago and the air temp was -45. He lived outside of town and had a forest of pine trees around him. At that temp the sap in the trees pop and it sounds like gun shots. That was COLD. Dh went into town to get some groceries and the guy at the store took one look at our little Toyota Corolla and said, "how in the heck did you get that thing to start" :lmao:. It was a great little car.

DS17 is going to school up there next year. I am NOT showing him the temps right now :lmao:. Good thing they have the tunnel system at BSU. I love Bemidji. My Dad grew up there and Grandpa lived there until he died so we spent a lot of time in the area.

Agreed - Bemidji is one of my favorite spots in MN! Right after Duluth. I was daydreaming this morning about being up at Lake Itasca, actually, and sitting where the river starts and just basking in the warm sun on a rock. Ahhh - a slice of heaven!

That is a great place to be. We have been there several times. We have some great pictures of the kids when they were little walking across the Mississippi. Some good friends were camping there last summer and he had a major bike accident, ended up in the Bemidji hospital getting his leg reconstructed :scared1:.

I don't know how you guys can do it! It is 64 here in SoCal and I am cold!! Sending you warm thoughts!!

We were in California last week visiting our families. Now we are back in freezing 10 degree weather here in Kansas! It was so cold this morning, I didn't even want to get out of my car to pump gas!

You do adjust to the cold though. We were born and raised in California, then moved to Kansas almost 2 years ago. You just need to layer your clothes when you go outside. I love it here and hope that we never have to move back to California. I don't miss the traffic one bit and will gladly trade a few months of cold. I just hate pumping gas in it.

Don't know how to convert, but it's -28 degrees celsius here

This morning, I took DS to soccer. In the 5 seconds it took me to walk from the door to the car, I started having pain in my eyes. I realized the water in my eyes was trying to freeze. Kids left a water bottle in the car and today it is frozen solid.

I hate winter!

Still cold in St. Louis as well, though it's supposed to be (though not THIS cold.) It's 5° right now, no wind-chill factor included.

< busily scratching notes on my "Places Never To Live" list >

Golfgal...you and I will never be neighbors. Oh well.

See, and with the bugs and snakes and all the other creepy crawly things in the south, I won't be moving there any time soon either :lmao:. I will take a few days of cold over having snakes on my doorstep ANY day.:thumbsup2

:rotfl:Na, I'm not from the south....wish I were. I'm from PA, which is hard enough for me. I could NOT do MN. I have visions of myself as Jack Nicholson in The Shining.

It does sound like a lovely place, though. Perhaps a summer vacation someday. Hats off to you!

Hey! Who turned off the global warming?

24° near Savannah, GA this morning. Brrr!
