Hi ya all!
I haven't been spending much time on the boards, but with free dining again it makes me want to be on the boards to get a fix because we can't go this year, but will go in September of 2008.
I have a question for Grendalynn or anyone else from Maine or New Hampshire. Grendalynn, how much do you estimate it costs you to drive from NH? I would like a breakdown:
Gas $
Tolls $
lodging $ (how many nights?)
Food $
Also, how much do you get airfare for from NH to Orlando?
When we went in 2005 we were planning on driving to save money, but then gas went sky high(like now!) and we found a last minute deal to fly from Portland, ME(which is the closest to us - 35 min.) to Orlando FL for $135/pp including taxes!!!! That was the deal of the century!! You usually don't even get that price from Manchester, NH or Boston!
My husband would like to fly again, but with a large family of 9(1 free) it costs a bit per ticket unless it is another bargain! I am trying to see what it costs from this area because it's been a while since we travelled down to Florida.
Also how is your decision coming about a camper? How much have you figured it would cost w/ a camper compared to driving a car? or flying?
Tammy from Maine
hi - so sorry for not checking in. I feel like I am in withdrawls... its on my mind but baby boy has been sick and with that being said, i got sick as well. Typical right!? How are all my fellow Addiscts doing these days??
Anywho - 2 things: you, or anyone for that matter, can check out the trip calculator by Fuel Trip Calculator by
AAA, you can pick your year and make of car, where you are starting from and going to and it wil give you the total cost at the avergae price of gas between point A and B. Go to:
http://www.fuelcostcalculator.com/. 2nd thing to look into for flights: Alegiant Air flies out of PEASE Tradeport in Portsmouth, NH with cheap direct flights to the Orlando Sanford Airport.

we have driven staright through in the past and made it to Orland o in less than 24 hours, but with the little ones it is good to stop so they can air outtheir tail feathers and we aren't totally exausted to start off the trip. Because honestly, you need another relaxing vacation after leaving Disney.... its go go go all the time!! But thats why we all love it so much - always so much fun and exciting things, you never run out of things to do...
The only draw back being that they do not have Magical Gatherings Trasportation at that airport I don't believe, but I am not 100%. Our family of 5 just flew down there on a NON_STOP flight for $229 each - $99 one each pp one way, and another $109 for the rturn trip pp. Both airports are smaller in size and are a quick and easy in and out, especially with kiddos!! Anywho - I am not sure where you are inMaine, but if 95 isnt far away, its a quick shot up and for the $$ you can't beat it. Another thing about Alegiant is that they do have limited schedules, so that may be something to look into....

I hope this helps! I certainly have the Disney bug now that I have seen the Mickey Ears and all the highway hype last week!! Makes us want to go more than ever!!!! Happy Dising!!
