OMG! Giordano's on Restaurant.com

I got a $25 restaurant.com card from someone as a gift (she told me she paid considerably less for it). Can I use that at Giordano's? I leave in 3 days! I'm originally from Chicago so it would be great to have this on vacation!

You sure can, however you first have to convert it to a restaurant specific certificate. Follow the instructions on the certificate you have. I think they direct you to www.theidealmeal.com. From there you will be able to convert that restaurant.com certificate in to one of the same type for Giordano's.

However, I had a problem trying to do this with a restaurant.com certificate. There were no $25 certificates listed for Giordano's when I tried to redeem a gift. Only the $10 and $50 certs were shown.

They had more Certificates up for all 3 locations today. Code is "STEAK" to get the 80% off. :thumbsup2

Actually I think STEAK only gets you 70% off. We are waiting to buy a $10 cert on Tuesday. The 70% off offer ends on Monday.

would you mind telling me more about retaurant.com? It looks like you purchase the cards at a less price then their face value and use them at the retaurant? I guess the only downside is that you have to go to that restaurant at some point on your vacation, especially if the only location is in orlando?
Thanks

I called and you can use it on take out and delivery.
The oerson I spooke to was Marcel so if there are any problems say that you called before ordering and you talked to the manager Marcel.

So if you are going to do a take out, you still must give them an 18% tip since the site states it will be added to your total of $35. I am one who tips at least 20% when I am at at sit down, but to have take out & must give 18%, that is a bit crazy.

Thanks for the heads up...we love Giordanos and I also found a couple more places!

can anyone tell me which Giordano's is closest to the Wyndham Bonnet Creek? I may just cancel our Via Napoli ADR LOL!!

so glad I found this post, been trying to keep up with restaurant.com,got my House Of Blues a couple weeks ago, now this one! Course I was so excited I got the one on Sand Lake Rd. before the one on Irlo Bronson...glad it was only $3, not sure what to do with it though...
so can't wait til Labor Day weekend!!:dance3:

:confused3 it will not except my payment for the gc..maybe its because i dont live in that area..not sure.

I was able to use my Canadian credit card to buy. I put my address in the first address line then put the hotel address (thanks OP for the idea) in the rest of the form and it worked for me. I have actually done 3 separate purchases on restaurant.com in the last week or so.

I bought the Giordano's, Garden Grove and House of Blues on there. I am so excited to go to Garden Grove for a character dinner and get $25 off and to try House of Blues in Downtown Disney.

Does Garden Grove dinner have characters? Can someone confirm because I thought it was only for breakfast.

I would love to do a character dinner so this would be excellent if I could also use the gift certificate.

when I read back on this post, I see that someone mentioned that drinks are not included in the $35 minimum?? Surely you mean alcohol right? Cause I always thought sodas/tea and coffee were considered food?? Maybe I need to call them directly and ask, cause with 4 people even the drinks would make up a good amount...:confused3

I think you would need to call. I was wondering the same. It does say food only. If you call them, let us know what they say. We haven't bought one yet. We only need a $10 one and are holding out until Tuesday when they will likely offer 80% off. I want to save that extra $0.40.

I found this interesting. Just received an e-mail from Restaurant.com reminding me to print my unused certificates. With restaurant.com you can track the use of your certificates, but it is up to you to track when you use them by updating them to used. Restaurant.com does not do this for you. The restaurants can call to verify a certificate, which also invalidates the certificate.

I have five certificates in my account that are still marked as unused. My e-mail actually listed six certificates. The House of Blues certificate that we used back in June is listed on the e-mail as unused but I have it marked in my account as used. So I wonder if the e-mail is going from actual records of used certificates instead of how they are marked in my account.

It perhaps is possible that HOB never called the verification number when I used the certificate. Thus leaving it as unused in the redemption verification system. It could be possible to use the certificate a second time since even if they do call to validate, it would come up as unused.

interestingly enough, one of the restaurants i have a certificate for that i paid for, it is a 75.00 one for a seafood restaurant that closed a couple of years ago, i had no clue until i tried to call and got no answer and found out thru more research that the place closed. this really bothers me about restaurant.com

From the restaurant.com website:

What do I do if I attempt to use a Restaurant Gift Certificate and the restaurant is permanently closed or does not accept my Restaurant Gift Certificate?
Although rare, restaurants can go out of business or change owners without informing Restaurant.com. If the restaurant is permanently closed or does not accept your Restaurant Gift Certificate, please contact Customer Service at info@restaurant.com (include your Restaurant Gift Certificate number or code) or call us at 1-800-979-8985 Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Central Standard Time and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Our Customer Service department will exchange your unused Restaurant Gift Certificate for equivalent credit to Restaurant.com in the form of a Restaurant.com Gift Certificate. You can then use your Restaurant.com Gift Certificate to choose another Restaurant Gift Certificate or Merchant Certificate from Restaurant.com.

The same thing happened to me. When I emailed them about it they basically gave me a credit to purchase a different restaurant certificate. I've always had good luck with their customer service.
