OMG! 10 yr old child found only weighing 29 pounds!!

I am watching the news and just saw this terrible story...10yr old found weighing only 29 pounds. I am appaled that someone could do that to her, OMG! I wanted to cry... just for comparison to see how small 29 pounds is, below is a photo of my DGoddaughters ages 3 and 4yrs old, they both weigh 29-30 pounds and are only 34-37 inches tall. Sizes 2t and 3t. Both are only in the 10% or so percentile for their ages... I can NOT imagine a 10 yr old weighing this much... what is wrong with the world today?!?!

It shocks me to hear these things. There are some truly sick
folks out there. DH doesn't like me scrutinizing strangers but
I notice lots of weird stuff in people. Too bad no one figured
this one out.

I've got one on the opposite extreme.

My neice is 6 months older than my 8 year old. She turned 8 in January, and weighs in at 98 lbs. she is 1/2 inch taller than my DD, she stands at 51 1/2" tall. my DD is 52.5 lbs, and 51" tall.

My DD wears 7/8's my neice wears size 8-10 WOMANS..she has to have the pants shortened, but the waist is 8-10, which I believe works out to about a 31-33" waist....

CNN does a story on a underweight child- but wheres the news about the obese kids?

FYIW, my daughter is and always has been in the 75-80% for weight/height at the doc's office...

My neice already gets picked on horribly, can't run to save her life, though most of this is her parents fault, for allowing it to happen,, as there are no underlying medical conditions.

Wow, and I thought my DD was too thin. She's 4'8" and weighs 63 lbs. The doctor said that she is in the low-normal range.

My little guy is going to be one on Sunday, and he weighs 25lbs. for goodness sake!

My nephew is 10 years only and only weighs 59 lbs! He is totally normal but just can't gain weight for the life of him. My sister brings him monthly to weigh in at the doctors. She gives him milkshakes every day. Just won't gain. He doesn't look sick, but has awful small legs

Now, my daughter is going to be 11 this fall and weighs 110 lbs and is 5'4" and has a size 9 shoe!! She plays all types of sports and looks good, just really solid! I can't believe it but I share my clothes with my 10 year old daughter!

I just don't understand people who do this to innocent children. Why do they even bother having kids if they are going to mistreat them? My blood is just boiling right now.....

That just upsets me to no end! Why would you take a child into your home and then treat her so horribly?
Why do people have children if they are not going to take care of them!
AAARRRGGHHH.... I worked in a psychiatric hospital with children and adolescents for 7 years and saw/heard such awful stories...
How parents can hurt their children is beyond me!

Prayers must go out to that child!

And social workers went to the house monthly and saw this girl. What were they thinking! Very sad all around.
