It's sports tape of some kind. It is supposed to aid in lymph node drainage and provide support. She had done something to that shoulder prior to the games.

It's tape to help her with her shoulder which she had surgery on it. The tape helps with circulation.

If your talking about the beach volley ball player it was a tape job to support her shoulder because of surgery she had not to long ago. To wrap tape around her arm/shoulder would limit her arm movement but having it on the surface gives support without limiting motion.

I agree...why do they continue to play in their "undies"?

I understand that beach volleyball started on "the beach"...but they are not playing on "the beach"....so why do they continue to wear the hoochie-mama outfits? Obviously for ratings...otherwise...men would not watch it.

I would imagine they could probably wear whatever they wanted. I'm going to guess the IOC doesn't demand they wear bikinis.
