I'm have to make dining reservations during free dining and there's not much availability. I want at least 1 grown up restaurant for us and was trying to get something like Teppan edo, le cellier, ohana, tutto. The reviews for Olivias look good and we'll be staying at OKW. Would anyone recommend Olivia's over any of these places?

Out of the 4 you mentioned, I have only been to 'Ohana which we love. We did eat at Olivia's as a spur of the moment dinner last trip; DD got in trouble so she and I stayed back while the others went to DHS ;) Anyway, we really enjoyed it. We had steak, Caesar salad, and potato and all were excellent. The steak was one of the better I have had, aside from Cal Grill, while at WDW. The atmosphere is a mellow relaxed beach theme and our server was one of the best we've had. I would return to Olivia's. :thumbsup2

I have never had a bad meal at Olivia's I think you would enjoy it.
I would eat there over Tutto -- there food was OK nothing I would go back to.
I think LC is far overpriced for what you get I would rather go to one of Disneys real steakhouses for a few dollars more--- however for lunch and a steak sandwich they are great.
Ohana I like but I personally enjoy Olivia's more as Ohana is just crowded these days.

Olivia's is a family favorite, a tradition on arrival night! We've always had a good meal there and we enjoy the casual atmosphere. I love the ceasar salas as well, and the steaks are good. DS(soon to be 13) loves the grilled pork chop!

They have a good cheeseburger and turkey sandwich on the lunch menu as well!

Enjoy!

I wouldn't pick Olivia's over any of your other choices, but we do love the food there. It's nothing fancy, but the food has always been fresh and tasty.

As for your other choices, Tutto was, by far, the best meal we've ever had at WDW. We've eaten at all of the World Showcase restaurants and most of the full-service restaurants at the resorts and Tutto was the best.

Le Cellier, 'Ohana and Teppan Edo are all also very good. The only one I'd consider dropping is Teppan Edo. While the food is good, you can probablly get just as good, if not better (and cheaper!), in your local area. If, however, you don't have any hibachi-style Japanese restaurants in your area I'd keep it.

Have a great trip!

Olivia's is a nice family style restaurant. The food is good, not exceptional and the atmosphere is casual. I wouldn't call it a dining experience just a nice place to eat that always has availability.

We love Olivia's, although we normally only eat breakfast there a few times during our stay, which is great. The atmosphere is relaxing and the service is pleasant.

Agree with Disneynutz. We ate at Olivia's our first night at OKW since we were not hitting the parks until the next day. It was fine, nothing exceptional but very good. Hope you enjoy your stay. We loved OKW!

We were turned away in Dec 2007 and in sept 2008 we waited 1 1/2 hours. both were for dinner. Breakfast has not been a problem.
I would suggest ADR's for all though as sometimes you have bad luck...

We have always enjoyed our meals at Olivia's very much. My husband loves the steak and I enjoy their seafood (although they removed my favorite thing poor me). I love the bread they serve at dinner.

I agree its not exceptional but we make a point to eat there at least once when we stay at OKW and even if we don't we generally like to go there if possible.

The place I do think is exceptional in that same neck of the woods is Turf Club at SSR. Just a short boat ride away from OKW and to me one of the best kept secrets in WDW.

Oh yeah, Olvia's was very crowded both nights we ate there in June. The first time I was able to make a last minute ADR (about three hours before we wanted to eat), the second time, we had a long wait and they almost turned us away (we were about 10 minutes late for our ADR). I noticed while we sat there for way over thirty minutes people getting turned away. This was new for us, in years past we were able to generally just walk up and get in.

We love Olivia's.

We eat there at least once each trip (OKW is our home and we almost always stay there).... usually on our arrival day.

We tend to eat one dinner at Olivias, one somewhere else in the World and the rest of the meals are cooked in our unit.

We've never had a bad meal at Olivias, though I think the menu is less special than it used to be before the DDP and free dining.

I miss some of the Key West specialties (and I really miss the buttermilk fried chicken breast).

But what they do serve (fairly standard stuff now, mostly) is always well executed and as good a value for your dollar as any other resort counter service restaurant at WDW.

The last time we went to Olivia's we loved it but that was many years ago.
I'd say go for it, I'm finding that some of the lesser known restuarants can be really good.

We were there August 31 for dinner, and had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Breast. It was very good! We also liked the Pina Colada Bread they start you out with. We asked for the recipe for the bread, and found out that the bread is purchased elsewhere; and you have to buy it by the case..45 i think. If anyone wants the bakery, PM me.:thumbsup2

WE love Olivia's. Have to go there at least once if trip if we can possibly manage it, for the Key Lime Pie if nothing else! But we enjoy the rest of the menu too!;)

Oh.... thanks for this info.

I didn't know they had brought it back. It's a simple dish, but it is a unique one to Olivias... the kind of thing they initially eliminated when they started standardizing menus with the big DDP/Free dining push.

Now my mouth is watering for our next trip... looking forward to that arrival day dinner.

They didn't bring it back, they have it as a special every once in a while, I love Olivias it is one place we always eat at. Good food and nice relaxed atmosphere.

I love their breakfast but not a fan of the dinner. I absolutely love their grits.

I've never had a bad meal at Olivia's, but of those you mentioned, I would say Teppan Edo is our favorite. We have several favorite places for each trip. Teppan Edo, Jiko, Artist Point, and Turf Club are "must do" places for us.
