OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

Tomorrow Magic Kingdom and Cinderella's Royal Table. I'll try to keep these mini trip reports done on my iPhone coming. We'll see how that works out.

I'll be looking forward to reading any mini reports you post during your stay...especially since YC will be home in just over 4 months. And you're already starting off with one of the places we'll be dining...CRT. We've got a breakfast ADR. What about you?

Hmmm. I would say that something grassy would be nice. I'd definitely prefer that to dense woods. The lobby vs. Epcot distance doesn't bother us. I figure, we could use the exercise. :rotfl: Truly, as scenic as it gets in GV would be great. Is it weird to say I'd love to actually be facing some other section of the resort? I just think its so pretty. We just repainted the bathroom, and when asked what color I wanted it, I said "Beach Club Blue!" I actually brought a photo of the resort with me to Home Depot!

I think from what you said I would add "volleyball court view" to your reservation.

Hope this is what you are looking for...

Will check all things yogurt tomorrow.

Oh you are so kind! Thanks, I'll have to see if I can find any pods like that!

Just another option--
I used Starbucks Via when I was in Orlando last month. They are little tubes filled with instant coffee. They aren't like the usual instant coffee, Via is really good! I have purchased it at Target, my grocery store, other places. Any leftovers I can use when I get home. :thumbsup2

Heat the water in the machine, pour in the coffee and you're set! (I usually pick up a half pint of milk and keep it in my frig-much nicer in my coffee.):cool1:

Not to wish summer away b/c it is just getting here but....

49 days til I get to the BCV!!! I can't wait!!!:cool1::dance3::yay:

We drink the Starbucks Via Italian Roast every day. We just love this coffee. It's really good for instant coffee.:thumbsup2 We bring it every time we travel as well.

We will be arriving at the YC CL in 6 days.:woohoo::yay::woohoo: Can anyone tell if a CM greets you at the bell stand or do we have to go to the front desk? TIA:flower3:

I know what you mean. Jeanne and I have been planning this dude ranch vacation for 3 years. I never thought it would get here and now it's here ... this Saturday ... I'm so excited. Thank goodness I have something else to look forward (besides all my Dis friends coming to see me at the BC) to after the trip - Princess Lily's first trip to Florida.

I see families crying when they are leaving every day ... so upset that their BC vacation is over. A little girl cried so hard yesterday when they were leaving. It broke my heart. We're all very lucky that we have each other on this thread and can plan and talk about our future vacations, even if they are years away.

On a happier note. I just made an appointment for Princess Lily's first haircut at Magic Kingdom at the barber shop on 8/3 at 11:30 AM. Anybody at MK that day: you are welcome to share (or hear the screaming) the magical experience with us.

If all works according to plan, you will be met and taken upstairs to check in. However, if a load of people arrive a few minutes before you and all the curbside CMs are otherwise occupied and they should miss you, just tell any CM you see (valet, bellman, themed greeter (MY POSITION), manager, etc.) that you are staying CL and they will get someone to get you checked in.

I think we have to develop a plan to secure the Oreo Bon Bons for more than just one day a week. I mean suppose you are only at the hotels for 6 days and the next day after you check out is Oreo Bon Bon day? Can you just hear the anguished wails of the dearly departed when they realize they came this close ][ to Bon Bon heaven and missed!

Nope I think maybe we have to take matters into our own hands!

One (useless) idea could be we do a Oreo Bon, bon fridge exchange. How this would (not) work would be we could sell subscriptions to the bon bons and keep them in one of those fridges that used to make the rounds at the value resorts. The fridge exchange at the values is, in all probability, dead because the values now have beverage coolers. As one who believes in recycling I'm sure we can put those old, beat to death, box fridges to good use one more time with our Oreo Bon, Bon fridge exchange.

Ok, Ok I HEAR ya. Not practical.... Well another thing we could do is write to the hotel manager and make a case for keeping the Oreo Bon Bon's on a more regular schedule on the club level offerings.

Here is her contact info:
Mim Flynn, General Manager
Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resorts
1800 EPCOT Resort Boulevard
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

I'm sure if you took the time to write and talk about how this Bon, Bon withdraw is affecting you they might realize that it's something they should reconsider. While you're at it, be sure and put in a plug for that Key Lime Pie dessert making a reappearance at the Captain's Grille. After all, us foodies gotta make a stand when they start scaling back on offerings for our sweet Fangs.

I'm definitely going to write a letter about the oreo bon bons and the solar relief gel (that stuff is incredible). We've written to Ms. Flynn before and have always had excellent results. I truly believe the BC management listens to their guests, but they can't listen if we don't TELL them what we like!

How exciting! Lilys first haircut will be at Mk!! I hope pictures will be posted!

Oh thanks so much TeenaS.:flower3:

6 days, now that's a happy countdown! Hope you have a wonderful stay!!:goodvibes
Would love to hear about your YC/CL experience when you return, especially about lounge offerings. :cool1:

Thank you. I printed the label for our box to be shipped to the YC and DH is on his way to UPS right now.:woohoo::yay:

I will surely be happy to report back our experience with CL and what they have to offer. I love taking pictures so I will definitely be posting some photos as well. I have been learning how to re-size my photos through Photo bucket so my pictures won't (hopefully) be over sized for the thread. This is where my DS16 comes in handy.

Don't worry if the pictures are big - love to look at all BC/YC pictures!

I know what you mean about asking your ds - I have to ask my kids for everything remotely high tech. For years DH and I couldn't even watch a dvd without written instructions from my son (we did better when we switched from FIOS to Optimum).

Just wanted to thank Nannette for the pins (as soon on Page 1). They arrived over the weekend. Now I just need to add our names to them...and make sure we wear them while we are there in October.

Can't wait!! Just over 4 months to go. And if you look at my ticker...Mickey is quickly approaching the other side of the lighthouse!

I think I may start a new thread with the pictures this way this thread won't get inundated with many photos.:lmao:

You reminded me of the time I had to text my DS at his friends house to ask him what imput I had to put the tv on to watch a dvd.:rotfl2:

I have it down pat now but before, forget it. We have Optimum as well and it's fairly easy to use. I can finally work the DVR after many times of our DS trying to explaining it to me. I am like the programming wizard now. He checks the scheduled listings and tells my DH that he should have never showed me how to us it.:rotfl:

Less than a month until my first BC visit...:cool1: Can someone give me a few pointers on Storm Along Bay etiquette with regards to lounge chairs, etc. Do folks leave their stuff on them while in the pool? What about the limited tables with umbrella's....

For you coffee lovers (and I'm not one of them): I've had various guests tell me that over in the lobby of the YC where they have that small breakfast area ... well guests have been telling me that their coffee is A++++ and not Nescafe. Maybe one of you coffee drinkers (again, not me - I even dislike coffee ice cream) can try that out and report.

Teena, Please tell me where this area is. I do not remember the YC having a small breakfast area. This will be our first non-CL stay as we are doing the dining plan (I wanted CL, DH wanted the DP it is too much food to do both). My children and I will Miss Betty, Miss Barbara, Miss Shakira and MR. Gene they make our trips so special:sad1:.

Also, someone said that they are going to be staying at BW and that they could use SAB. Could you please tell me if they are right?

Hoping to meet you on our next trip.
