Unlike the Disney trip with 140 teens, this was a visit to the city with 160 pre-teens.
Anyone envying my days?
Woo hoo today I got to pick our seats on the flight.
Then, the world fell apart again, and the MIL 2B who had a fall at the start of the week and had a hip replacement as a result, was recovering nicely and been moved to another hospital for rehab, has now been rushed back to the main hospital with a collapsed lung![]()
If you are looking for good character meals, I think either the Cape May breakfast or Garden Grill dinner are good choices. I personally like that the Garden Grill dinner is served family style, so parents can sit and relax while the characters come to you. No jumping up to go to the buffet. Mickey, Pluto and Chip and Dale are there.
Coral Reef is also a good one with kids. They can watch the fish while they eat. The server also gives them a card with different types of fish to look for in the tank.
For dinner, our family loves Cape May Cafe buffet. Another good location is Le Cellier for lunch (dinner is 2 credits/lunch 1).
Good luck with your ADRs.
I know I'm still months away, but looking at the movie schedule, I'm thinking "how am I going to fit everything in."
Food & Wine, MNSSHP and then movie nights, DTD, JellyRolls...so much to do, so little time. Perhaps we should forego sleep. It's not really that important, is it?
Well, our much anticipated vacation to Disney World and the Yacht Club ended today. We had a wonderful time and my family had lots of memories that will last a lifetime. This was our first stay at the YC and our second stay at a Disney Resort.
We stayed in a CL lagoon view room for seven nights. We were in room 5221 and it overlooked the section of SAB that is really sandy and shallow for the smaller children. We had a great view of the lagoon and the light house. Our room was very nice and seemed to be in great shape.
Two years ago, my family stayed at the GF in the main building. We enjoyed CL and are now addicted! I have often heard that these two resorts are similiar, so I thought I might compare them.
Location - My husband preferred the location of the YC because of the ability to walk or boat to two parks. He also felt like it was centrally located. My daughters, ages 13 and 8 preferred the location of the GF because they still prefer MK to all of the other parks. I loved the YC location.
Pools -YC definitely had the upper hand on pools. We loved SAB and used it every day.
Restaurants - We all loved Hurricane Hannahs, Beaches and Cream, and Cape May. YC wins again.
Rooms - Well, I really can't fairly compare this because the room we had at GF was a queen deluxe, and the room at YC was a standard queen. Both rooms were very nice. I liked the white bedding at the YC more than the bedspreads at GF.
CM's- The cm's at the YC were wonderful. Absolutely everyone from the IPO CM's to the Bellmen were polite, friendly, and helpful. We felt very pampered. The CM's at the GF were great, too, but we felt like the YC ones were friendlier.
Housekeeping - This is the one category that the GF wins handsdown. We had to ask for shampoo any time that we needed it. It was never refilled. The room was always clean, but some of the details were missed. The GF always made sure that we had more shampoos, lotions, etc., than we could need.
Overall, I think we would choose the YC over the GF in the future. We love them both, but we really feel comfortable at the YC. I highly recommend this resort for families and couples.
thank you. I'm currently on a bus heading home from a field trip to Boston's freedom trail but can't wait to check my email when I get home.![]()
OMG, does my ticker say 2 days???
I have updated the Be Our Guest list, but I have had trouble keeping up with the thread the past few days, so if I missed you, I apologize.
Everyone, please take a look at the list to make sure you are there and that your info is correct! Please post if you need me to make any changes.
I'll do one more update tomorrow, and then MickeyT will keep track of any new guests next week (you know the drill, Mike, please bold any new visitors)

Ticket prices- Disney just announced they would be raising their ticket prices tomorrow. So if you are contemplating buying tickets, I suggest you do it sooner rather than later. Like, TODAY!

For all of our friends lucky enough to be attending Star Wars Weekends:

Loving all the live updates! I am so glad we made the BC switch! I have a few questions.
1). We are traveling with two other families. My family booked CL GV. The others are regular GV. Will there be any chance we will be near each other?
2). A Mom from one of the other families has a birthday on our arrival day. Nothing was jumping out at me from Disney florists. Is it possible to order something like chocolate covered strawberries and champagne from room service to be in their room when we arrive?
3). DH is golfing four times. He is bringing his clubs. We are flying southwest. Does anyone know if we would get away with putting DS's clubs/bag inside DHs travel bag? It all fits fine... Just didn't know if SW would care. We don't have a smaller travel bag for DSs clubs.
Hi every one
how long does it take to go to "chef de france" by walking since Yacht Club ?
Thank you !
Thanks for the info about the cabanas....wish the BC had them!! Any shade near the quiet pool??:
Ok heres a question... DD and FDSIL Disneymoon is April 2013... I want to beat the ticket price increase! If I purchase tickets through Undercovertourist.com those tickets will still work for 2013 if they aren't use yet right???

Yes. If you need the link to the mousesavers discount page, PM me!
I believe so. Just like tickets through Disney. Check to see if there is a FAQ on their website. I also think that sometimes if they have tickets in stock at the old price, they will continue to price them at the lower price until they sell out. But I'm not positive.
Do you get the Mousesavers emails?
I just read that there is no food court. We are doing a split stay. 5 days at CS and 5 days at the BC. I will have my refillable mug from the first half where can I fill it the 2nd half of my trip? I NEED my morning coffee!
I met up with some folks from the Passporter msg boards today for the Chocolate Bar in Boston (YUM!!) and to talk Disney. Great day and so excited as this year we've got a trip coming up, unlike when I met up with them last year.
DS is really upset. We are from the UK and he is going to miss the last 2 days of events as we are at the Yacht Club, is he having a laugh or what
Anyway we are due to get to the Yacht Club just after they have run the 4X 100 men's relay and of course team GB are going to win! So my question is to those who work at the Yacht Club, is there anywhere in the hotel that is being set aside to watch the Olympics. I know NBC is covering the games, but we don't want to be sat in our room screaming at the TV, people may be sleeping.
Go team GB, go. So excited about the games as we have tickets for other events before our hols.
