When someone mentioned rehab for Splash Mountain, I did a quick search on it and saw that it was built in 1992, I was there in 87 and have very few pics of MK back then.
Does anyone have any old photos before the 90's of MK? I did a search and couldnt find anything related. I would love to see some if anyone has any, or a link. Oh I know there is that one site yesterland.com I think, but those pics are from disneyland.

out of 47 veiws no one has anything? is it b/c im new? whatever it may be, If anyone has any old photos or a link to a website with some older photos of the MK I would greatly appreciate it. I suppose Im fascinated with the past.
thankyou

I have some, somewhere in my stack of photo's. They are either here or at my mom's house. If I find them, I will send some to you...

Shiftgreen, welcome to the DIS. I think you have gotten several views and no answer because you asked a great question but no one knows the answer.

I remember a site that had all the old attractions at DW and DW but cannot remember the name of it. I checked my Favorites and even did a short search and did not come up with it. If I happen upon it later I will try to post it for you. It was a lot of fun to surf.

Bet someone who knows more than I will give you the answer soon though.

I had a second thought, usually much better than my first one and did a search on DisneyLAND instead and found the link.

Just in case I did not put the addy in correctly just do a search on Disneyland and look for 'yesterland". It has so much info on places that we used to love and are no more. Many are common to both parks.

Have fun!!

Ooooh. I like looking at older pics of Disney. :D

I think we're spoiled with digital pictures. You can take them and post them on the internet in one step.

But with older pics you have to scan them...and I do not own a scanner.

Found a couple more old photos!

Nipper in the Space Mountain queue when the attraction was sponsored by RCA. The saucer would slowly rotate and said "RCA Welcomes You to Space Mountain".

The lack of responses was due to the fact that many of us had to go and do some research.

What a nice place the DIS is that we have so many willing to go the extra mile?

This attraction was also known as the Plaza Swan Boats. It opened May 20,1973. There were 15 boats that each held 30 passengers and it reportedly required two cast members to pilot them. There were two different loading docks that were used at various points during the boats' lifetime. One was located by the area that is now the outdoor terrace seating by the Plaza Restaurant. The other was located to the right of the castle toward Tomorrowland.
Swan Boats required a D ticket and sailed around the moat of the central hub and circled around the Swiss Family Island Treehouse in Adventureland. The boats only operated during peak park periods and closed for good in August, 1983. One reason that may have contributed to their demise were mechanical and navigational problems with the boats.
Contrary to popular belief, Disney World did not donate the Swan Boats to the city of Orlando. They have also have not been relocated to the Swan Resort. The swan-shaped boats that are there are two person paddle boats. The former entrance to the Swan Boat queue area is now part of a rose garden and the actual queue is sometimes available to sit at or for private events.

I found these at http://waltdatedworld.bravepages.com/index.htm

AWESOME SITE!

I've got plenty of old photos, I just haven't been able to post any when I've tried. The photo quality isn't very good for the earliest ones I took before I got a 35mm camera (from the late 70's). Sorry!

Toontown 1991 (Edited to say I just remembered you said prior to the 1990's. SORRY!)
