old lake wilson road

i would like to live at one of the places on old lake wilson road. i know that they are owned by people. I can't afford to buy one but I would like to rent it for a year or less. How do you go about that? I know that the owners rent them out for a week as vacation places. I would also like it unfurnished. I know of a few people who do that. But I am not close enough to them to ask how they were able to rent them for a year.

Your best bet is to drive over to the developements and look for yourself. We found ours just driving around and saw a sign. I know there are quite a few long term rentals over at Indian Ridge Oaks, most come unfurnished. Expect to pay from $1200 and up for a 4-2 with pool

PM me and I can send you the name / number of a good local realtor who can point you in the right direction. Resorts like Windsor Hills and those in the same area are all STR (short term rental) vacation communities. All of the homes are generally furnished also. You also wouldn't want to pay the weekly rental rates for a whole year. Windsor Hills, for instance, has I think 5 people / homes (out of 1000) where someone actually "lives" there, the rest is all people's second homes and vacation goers to Disney.

Now, say weekly rental rates are roughly $1k/week....out on 27/Clermont area I know you can get a monthly rental unfurnished for well under $2000 a month, for a whole house. There are STR rental communities in the area, and longer term rental areas, the Formosa Gardens area / Old Lake Wilson area though is mostly STR as far as I know (which is why I'd call the realtor and ask where to look).

I can tell you where to go stay for a short term Disney visit, just not as much on where to live in the area. There's a few board postes (I think DUCKLITE is one, TEDVNON is another) who live right in the area, and could probably offer good advice as well on where to look for the longer term.

Ducklite lives in Clermont. Ted and I live in the same community. On Old Lake Wilson road there are only a few communities with LTR. Indian Ridge and Indian Ridge Oaks being 2 of them (access off of OLW or Sand Hill). The rest are located in Championsgate but are more resort types.

Prior to moving here I contacted many realtors and no one could find me a home where I wanted. After driving through the community I was able to get the numbers off the signs.

We stayed at a hotel (Mystic Dunes Resort) on this road, but they also have timeshares.

There are homes to rent in my area. It would be off Ronald Reagan Parkway which is very close to Old Lake Wilson.
