Old Key West Studio apartment

I am considering OKW studio apartments as it has the full kitchen and it would certainly be of much more use to us. Please can someone tell me if they have stayed there and what the studio comprises of sleeping wise (sofa beds or 'normal' beds).

also, what are your views on the resort for a 5 and 6 year old.

OKW studios have 2 queen beds. They do not have full kitchens. They do have a small bar sink, microwave, sm. refrigerator, coffee pot, a toaster, glassess, coffee cups, paper plates, and plastic untensils.

There are no "studio apartments". The studios at OKW have a kitchenette which consists of a small dorm fridge, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, sink. The rest is a regular hotel room. There are 2 queen beds.

If you want a full kitchen (full size fridge, stove, dishwasher in addition to the above), you need a 1 bedroom. A 1 bedroom has a king in the bedroom and a double pullout sofabed in the living room. There's also a jacuzzi in the bathroom and well as a full size washer & dryer.

DS13 slept on the sofa (I'd say it was a queen) for eight nights and never complained.

You're right, it is a queen. The doubles are in studios (other than OKW).

just returned from our 1st Stay at OKW... we had a 1 bd, and I don't think I'll ever go back to a traditional room again! DH snores terribly in Florida, so the fold out bed was quite comfy, thank you! The doors are very solid, and I couldn't hear him at all!

That is what we had when we went to OKW in March. The tv is super tiny but everything else was great. The quiet pool and spa and free washer/dryer use was a huge plus for me. We had a great time and would stay again if there was a big discount.

We stayed at an OKW Studio last summer with our 2 1/2 yo daughter. It was great -- SUPER quiet, as another person mentioned. There is only a small fridge, sink, etc. This was perfect for what we needed, light breakfast and milk, fruit for the little one. It's a fun resort -- try to get as close to the main building as you can; it's a quick walk, but worth the wait for buses. We walked to the front every day and always had a spot on the bus. Folks that waited at their own building were sometimes out of luck (we were there in June -- insanely packed!) We loved OKW and would return there any time. Their counter service didn't have tons of food, but truly was perfect for a quick bite at lunch or dinner while at the pool or before/after the parks. We loved it and hope you will too! HAVE FUN!!!!

Thanks, it is so hard to know which resort to go for. I saw Wilderness Cabins and fell in love with the resort but I read that it was a long time to get to the park. My son has AS. He does not understand waiting by any means and this is why the studio would be great as we could get him breakfast when he wakes, not pootle around waiting for everything to open.

We had jus a room last year and it was not really enough for what we needed to be honest. Desicions.....
