We are traveling the week after Thanksgiving. Originally it was only supposed to be 4 people so we have 5 nights booked in a BLT studio. My teenage daughter just informed me she will have a few days off from college and work and would like to come for the Disney part.( we are also going to Legoland and universal)
Plan is to be in Disney Thanksgiving day for either 4-5 nights. The only thing that has availability for all the nights (excluding Thanksgiving night but since we fly in that day we can do anywhere) is Old Key West.
Since it is such a busy holiday weekend I usually prefer places closer to the parks. I was able to snag 2 nights at BLT in a 1 bedroom. I waitlisted the night before and after. We can do the dolphin the first 2-3 nights.

Any thoughts? We will have a car. Should we just do Old Key West? Split Dolphin/BLT? I could also do cash in Contemporary 2-3 days before moving to BLT so at least we just switch rooms instead of a new location?

If you are open to doing a split stay, I would vote for the Dolphin/BLT split. Do HS and EP while you are at the Dolphin and then MK and AK while you are at BLT. This allows you to avoid using the buses as much as possible.

I like the split idea myself. But not with really young kids that may need a room to nap in. Or with a lot of stuff. Constantly packing and repacking isn’t my idea of fun. (I like 3 days minimum for a split stay.)
