My husband and I are taking his sisters age 76 and 60 with us to WDW the 7-14 of December. WE are DVC members and will stay at OKW. I thought the MVMCP would be a real treat until I read what it included, mostly shows aimed at kids, parades and unlimited MK rides. I also read it is very crowded. Can any of you give me insight about this "party". Also is there anything people of our generation would like at PI? My Dh is 71 and I am 56.

Of course everyone has different tastes....but I'd have a hard time to agree that the shows are designed for kids only....the shows on the castle forecourt stage and in the theatre in tomorrowland rivial anything you'd see on broadway....and the parade....all I can say is that if the magic of Christmas & Disney lives in their hearts...they'll be teary eyed by the end!

As far as crowds....Sun/tues nights are always the least crowded...and remember....admittance to MVMCP is limited...(wide spread reports are that admission is limited to 1/2 park capacity)...so it will never be as crowded as it is at other times.

Personally....I'll hate any year I'm unable to go!

"try it....you'll like it" :)

Hope this helps!

My DW and I went to MVMCP last year. No kids:bounce: We enjoyed it very much. IMO the shows are not really aimed at kids, unless anything Christmas themed is only aimed at kids. I can't find the program right now but from what I can remember, there were 8 shows and maybe 3 were directly aimed at kids.

The two parades were typical disney with characters on floats, bands dressed as toy soldiers, all singing/playing Christmas music.

The decorations! The "snow" on Main St.! The atmosphere! And IMHO, the parade is the best of all! (Icy, I'm only a few years younger than you, but I love MVMCP! My mother does, too!) It's for all ages. :D

Regarding PI, if I'm going to a bar at night, I prefer an atmosphere more quiet than PI--one of the resort bars. ;) (Also, I don't/can't stay up late enough to properly do PI.) ;)

Mom and I went to MVMCP last year for the first time. She insisted that I already order the tickets for this year. She'll be 79 this month. Also, whenever they release the CP dinner packages for this year, I'd recommend one of those.

PI just isn't our style, we seldom drink alcohol, and aren't big on club atmosphere. I bet they'd like a Cirque du Soleil show!

BTW the Pina Coladas at the Poly, near O'hana are wonderful :)

We do the MVMCP all the time. To me the folks who think the shows are for kids only, don't get it IMHO. Yes the shows use Disney caracters. So if the night before Christmas using Mickey and Minnie and changing it a bit is for kids, then I am a big kid. I think they would enjoy MVMCP. It has alot to offer in many ways. All of them fun to me. Some I like more than others. I think everyone has things they like more than others. We are planning on doing it again this year.

PI has the Adventurer's Club and the Comedy Warehouse, both of which have some good performances in improv going on. I have only spent a small amount of time at the Adventurer's Club but I loved it enough to have an evening planned there in December. Comedy Warehouse has some really good improv going on. These clubs are typically not filled with the hard core drinkers that you can find at the other clubs at PI every night.

As for MVMCP, it seems charming enough for adults as well as children. Disney always throws in references for the adults to enjoy in any event they plan. Christmas is a wonderful holiday and I can't wait to see what WDW does with that.

Don't forget the Candlelight Processional at Epcot too. It's another part of our December vacation that I am looking forward to this year.

And definately not to be missed would be the Osborne Lights at MGM. I love looking at Christmas lights, so this should be spectacular!

Read more about all this at http://wdwig.com/holiday.htm Mickey

Don't forget PI Jazz Company if you like good music, especially if Toxic Audio is performing. I took my 70ish aunts to see them at PI Jazz and they LOVED it.

76 and 60? You're traveling with the kids. :)

Last year, we took my 83 year old mother, in a wheelchair, to MVMCP and she loved it. It is truly a don't miss. There was so much to do and see, the only ride we went on was the Haunted Mansion. The CM's there stopped the ride so Mom could get on and she loved it.

The next day, we went to MGM and Mom say the Muppet show, the GMR, Indiana Jones, and Star Tours.

Truly, don't pass up the opportunity to go the MVMCP because there's something for everyone.
