Great photos everyone! My mum finally scanned some of our old slides. Here's a bunch from our trip in 1973 just a few years after the park opened. We camped in our trailer at Fort Wilderness and I remember fishing with my Grandfather in the little creek behind our campsite.

Man, I miss this view of the entrance plaza:

I loved the interior of The Land pavilion:

Especially the fountain (although I understand the need for more seating):

From the World of Motion beginning - what a great view of FW East!

As proof that morons have always visited Disney, please note the guy in the upper right who is standing to take a picture while on the ride.

Ahhh, Horizons. It's easy to forget just how massive that building was:

Wow, that was a lot of pages to go through!!! I never went to Disney as a child, I went the year the castle was a Pink birthday cake ( I thought it was nice). It's funny that I was 17, you think I would have remembered more then the castle! All I do know that I am officially addicted to Disney, so something happened then! :lovestruc

Does anyone remember if the balloon in The Land went up and down?

I love seeing the photos of the stuff I remember from my first trips. Especially Horizons and the World of Motion.

Does anyone happen to have photos of the Barbie show that was at the American Adventure stage cira 1994?

This is from May 1983. I was actually taking a picture of the topiary- I have no idea what that building is!

Taken with one of those 110-cameras (with my finger over part of the lens)! :lmao:

Looks more like the Tomorrowland Terrace.

ETA: At least, that's the right location for that topiary, the round-shaped building on the left would house the CircleVision 360 movie (and the PeopleMover track is visible), and it seems to look like the general layout of the Tomorrowland Terrace as it appears today.

Tomorrowland is the winner. Taken from the castle side of the river.

I know the topiaries we have now are better in appearance than the old ones, but there isn't anywhere near the number scattered around WDW as there used to be. One of our favorite reasons to ride the monorail was to see them from above. Anyone else remember that? The recently posted dragon one was a favorite, and I always liked the elephant family.
