Old Disney Park photos

Love, Love, LOVE this thread! I am only on page 77 at the moment, but diligently (and very enjoyably) working my way through :)

My In-Laws recently shared some pictures with my DH and I from their first trip back in 1971 shortly after MK opened that I thought I would share with you, so here goes!

OMG...the changes are so huge. The one that jumped out the most was the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House...there is so much foliage there now that it is almost invisible.

excellent photos from 1971

Thanks for your photos. They are great. Amazing how little vegetation and how small the trees were back then.

We just took this photo of Donald at EPCOT a couple weeks ago. Only his hat has changed.

How funny! Just the hat, and it also looks like Donald has filled out a little in the belly region, haha! Very cool to see how even though some things have changed tremendously, other things really stayed the same. Thanks for sharing!

bouncypouncytigger, I love these old pictures. They are great. Thank you for sharing.

You're welcome :goodvibes

I love your 20k picture, too! That was one of my favorites when I was a kid, and I was really sad to see it go. I was especially bummed that my DH never got to see it because I know he would have really loved it! I am however super psyched to see what the new Ariel ride will be all about, so I guess at least there's a silver lining there :)

I just spent the last 3 evenings looking through this thread and I am so sad that I am all done. :sad1: I have some pictures from '81 or '82 that I will get my DS to post for me soon.

Thanks everyone for the awesome pictures and comments! :flower3:

My parents would camp at Fort Wilderness and go to River Country in the '70s and loved it there but I was already married and long gone from the family by then. Seeing the pictures is great! That slide at River Country had quite a drop!
