We arrived at OKW Thursday night around 9:30pm after a good flight. We forgot to bring our DME documents but that was a non-issue as they accommodated us immediately. We had less than a 5 minute wait. For the first time they substituted a Mears van for the usual DME bus. We had 9 passengers for OKW, SSR and POR and OKW was the first stop.
Check-in was easy with no line. We have a 1BR in bldg 25. Our Owner's Lockers were waiting for us in our villa.
On Friday, we had a relaxing morning, had an early lunch at Olivia's and then headed to Epcot late-afternoon to catch the 5:00pm performance of Candlelight Processional. Geena Davis was the narrator and did a good job. As always, CP is a wonderful program. We did not have the dinner package, but were able to get a great viewing spot just outside the roped area without the need to wait in line for a Stand-by seat.
After CP we headed to DD and had dinner at Earl of Sandwich. There is a 10% DVC discount, but also a 15% AAA discount for those who are AAA members. Great sandwich as always. After dinner we browsed thru a couple of stores but the crowds finally convinced us to head back to our villa.
Today we had a quick breakfast from Good's-to-Go in the villa and then went over to AK. Got into the 1:00pm show for Nemo and then walked around a bit before lunch at Flame Tree (don't forget to use your TIW card for the nice discount there).
There are a few villas with lighted decorations on the balcony, but not as many as years past - same for BCV when we left Epcot last night after CP. Our building has great golf course and water views. We enjoyed watching a river otter "fishing" in the fairway pond for about 30 minutes this morning.
Temps yesterday and today were low-mid 70's and upper 70's-low80's predicted for the next 3 days. Much better than the 16 degrees with snow on the ground we left on Thursday!
We plan to make the Merry Member Mixer on Tuesday (it is definitely planned in spite of reports to the contrary) and to the Annual Meeting on Thursday.
Here are a couple of photos of the view from our 2nd floor balcony taken a few minutes ago. The pond is where we saw the otter. Building 37 (Turtle Pond area) is across the green in the first photo.
