Are all or most of the 2 bedrooms at OKW dedicated?

We are looking to stay in a one bedroom for our first night and then have a two bedroom for the rest of our stay. However DH will only do this if we do not have to change rooms.

I don't really want to pack up and move either, however if all we have to do is go get another key from the desk I think it would definately be worth it.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

There are many lock-off 2BR's at OKW. You will need to make it clear to MS when you reserve that you want to stay in the same 1BR for the entire stay. They may not guarantee this, but it can be done.

You are really making 2 different reservations- a 1BR and a 2BR, but they can plan it so you can simply add the studio to make the 2BR when you need it. You will definitely want to request a Lock-Off villa.

We've done this on several occasions. Have MS note it on your reservation and clarify again at check-in. You will probably need to check a 2nd time when you "move" to the 2BR, but hopefully, it won't involve a physical move.

Good Luck! :)

Hi, It may depend on what your original reservation states.

For example, we are going in June and decided to go 1 day early at BCV. Our original reservation is for a dedicated two br and they only have a one br available for the extra day. I asked about a lockoff to prevent moving but none were available for the entire 7 night stay. I have left it now as a hold for a dedicated two br for that one night so hopefully that will go through.:)

We are not checking in till 6 pm so even if we are in the one br for the first night I will be down bright and early to check in to my 2 br. Maybe we will get the Epcot view we want!! Also, we will not unpack that first night. It will be a pain but we will be at Disney a day early!!:Pinkbounc

Good luck with your situation.

thank you so much for the quick replies--we'll ponder a little longer and probably call MS on Monday

I agree that you should definitely call MS and have them note on both reservations that you do not want to move from 1 bedroom to 2 bedroom lockoff.

Helpful hints....

Make sure the 2 Bedroom portion of stay is booked as a 2 bedroom lockoff and definitely not a dedicated two bedroom.

If it is booked as a dedicated two bedroom it is almost 100% likely that you will have to move. (unless occupancy is very low and they can change it at the resort)

It is extremely rare..note extremely!!! that you would have to move if you have its book with the lockoff. The only case I could imagine that you would have to move is if there is some sort of complication with the studio portion of the lockoff after you have already checked in to the one bedroom. This could be due to maintenance or the current guests of the studio may choose to extend if there is availability, meaning the lockoff would no longer be available.

This is why Doc said it is not guaranteed, but it can be done.

I would say just go with it and be optimistic. If the resort does make you move, they will do their best to make it go as smoothly as possible.
