Unless one of those days is at Epic. Then, the AP just doesn't seem to add up, no matter what I do.
Yeah the Epic thing does really throw off the calculation with an AP.
In the past sometimes it was like $20-$30 more than a 4 day ticket and would make sense.
I think is around $60 more these days for the seasonal pass.
I do between 15 to 30 days a year in Universal from out of state so with the Hotel discount and entry to the two parks it makes sense for me - even though I have to buy individual day tickets for Epic separate
If I was doing 3 or 4 days it changes things a lot since I'd buy an AP and then still need a ticket for Epic.
It may be the best value is to get a 3/4/5 day ticket that has one day in epic - you have to do the math for yourself.
If you want two days at Epic you still have to buy another single day Epic ticket on top of that.
It may also make sense - for say a party of 4 - staying on property to get one AP so you get the room discount.
Then there is the pass that includes 10% food discounts so again for a group of 4 over several days that can be worthwhile and that also includes free parking with it.
So you need to review all 4 passes and see what benefits are useful to you . The top level pass gets prime parking, up to 15% food discount and after 4 PM express pass in IOA and US (not Epic) once per ride, and an
HHN Ticket.
On my recent 6 night stay I saved at least 300 on the room across the stay - maybe more - I did not really sit down and figure it out.
In the past the AP often the best option even for a few days - but now you may need to run the number and sort out what is the best deal for your group and factor in other things and how many days at Epic.
Most of us look forward to a time when Epic is a regular part of the tickets and AP - but that is not the case today - of course the next question is how much will that cost?
