Okay, now we are thinking of OKW since BWV prices are skyrocketing, and we rarely make reservations 11 mos ahead of time, anyway. But, I'm not sure what a fair price is for OKW. We are currently looking at one that has all the points for this year available. What would be a fair offer for 150 points? Would that price differ if we bought one with more points, say in the 170 or 190 range?

Thanks again,

We just bought 310 points at OKW last month and paid $64 per point. This package had 256 banked points from the previous year so we felt it made the package worth a bit more. The original owners were asking for $68 per point. I have seen others post purchases of $62 per point which I think is a really good deal, but we were happy at $64.

From my observations, I don't think the size of the point package affects prices much unitl the package exceeds 400 points. Then I notice that the asking price per point is lower presumably because it is tougher to sell packages that are that large. However, packages in the 150 point to 270 point range are very common and tend to sell at higher prices.

Hope this helps! You won't regret it! We have our next two vacations planned already

We are also waiting to close on an OKW Resale. We purchased 270 points with an Aug use year and ALL 270 points from 2000 banked. The owner was asking $68, but considering the banked points and that OKW is SOLD-OUT, I have a feeling prices are just going to keep going up, so we were happy with $64 per point.

GOOD LUCK!!! Hope you find something good....Let us all know how you make out!!

There is an OKW and BWV package on ebay. They could be purchased separely and the price seems to be at $58 point. Don,t know about the current point status. Type in Disney vacation to find.

Not to be nosy - how did each of you allocate closing and maintenance fees?

That can make a big difference...

ie

$59 + maintenace

is the same as

$62 with no maintenance.

Thanks!

We bought OKW in October 2000 for $55. per pt. We did not figure in maintenance fees because we had one full year of banked points. That alone was worth the maintenance fees.

A close family friend just bought a resale for OKW last week. It was 460 points at $56/point. There were no points left from 2000 and most of the 2001 points were gone also. The lack of 2000/2001 points was not important to our friend because he has already been invited to join us on our two jaunts to OKW this year--so he really doesn't need his own points until 2002.

Last month, we bought 330 points at OKW, with 127 banked for $59/pt...seller paid closing, we paid maintenance for first qtr of year.

I just sent my deposit this week...yet to close, on a resale of 210 pts at BWV @ $62/pt; June use year. There were few points left this year, so no maint fees. We don't need the points this year anyway.

We closed on Feb 12 this year. We paid $58 a point and closing costs. So a total per point price was about $60.00. ($59.956)

We are getting the closing papers on Monday for 300 points at BW. WE paid $65 per point( all points there for 2001 and 90 from 2000). Some people get alower but many seem to be paying $68 so I was happy with this.

We turned down a OKW last week for $350 at points with all banked from 2000 and 170 from 1999 for $64 per point because we really wanted BW and paying the extra without all the points was worth it to us.

We will of course pay maint fees for 2001 as we are getting all the points. There are also closing costs.

We didn't get the chapest deal by far but compared to other deals I think we did great.

By the way, this was done through Jaki at A timeshare broker. As Ed always says she is definately great to work with and is always avaiable to help. I must have called her every day recently when she was on vacation but not once did she not answer her cel phone and help me!

One other point. The difference between lets say 60 dollars a point and 70 when you think about 41 years of vacations doesn't realy matter that much. The same applies with the $500 closing costs. Over 41 years its worth it to be in the resort you want!

I am looked forward to March 1 when I can finally announce being offical and I can be welcomed home!
