We're considering a resale at OKW as our home resort. As i'm looking at what's left for February/March, i'm noticing that nights at the "General Resort" are booking faster as compared to "Near Hospitality House". Is it more points to stay near the hospitality house? As far as we can see, being nearer the hospitality house would be a lot more convenient (for us anyway... Me, DW, DS4 and DD1), so why wouldn't it book sooner than the Gen Resort?

it costs the same number of points to stay near the hospitality house.

not sure why regular rooms would book faster or even if that is true. many OKW regulars from this board may have areas they prefer to stay, which are not near the HH. having stayed in the outer reaches of OKW, i liked the solitude and found it easy to hop a bus to get to the HH if needed. YMMV.

We prefer Turtle Pond and South Point areas over the HH area. It is simply more relaxing for us.

I was actualy surprised MS felt the need to create the "near HH" category.

As pp has stated it is a booking category & does not require extra points to be located in buildings designated near Hospitality House ( those are 11 -14 and 23 - 26 ). It really is matter of personal preference & what's most important to you and your family ::yes:: . Some like other areas for convenience to the quiet pools & bbq grills & also laundry buildings if staying in studio, walking path to DTD, maybe view of canal, etc. Many areas are a short walk to HH anyway or just hop on the bus at stop nearest to your villa & you're there in minutes. We've stayed in HH area but honestly we don't prefer it over any other areas we have also stayed at in OKW.

if you are using DME and will not have a car then near HH is much better than further away.

if you have a car any will do - but I like the water views.

It could just be a function of what's been reported by someone who wasn't asking about the HH category.

One reason I prefer the non-HH area: buildings 29 and lower don't have a door between the living area and master bath. Buildings 30 and higher do. But, all of the HH-area inventory is in "no door" buildings.
