I was thinking about renting some DVC points next year with DVC Rental Store for Old Key West. But does OKW really command $22 a point? I was expecting $20 a point with this resort. Am I missing something here?

Is it at 11 months? For a number of those companies, the price goes down after 7 months. In some cases, Disney cash bookings aren't available at 11 months (happened to me during Marathon weekend 2026) so some may see value in getting a booking at *any* DVC resort that early.

It's because you are looking at a third party rental site and not directly from another member. I think it would be rare (if ever) that you could find a rental on the third party sites for less than $22. And those would probably be a desperate member trying not to have their points expire.

The Third Party Rental sites are "safer" but they will cost more vs going direct from another member. They are paying the member less than that, probably 14-18$, then marking the rest up for their own profit. That is their model

It makes sense to me. Rental companies tend to take at least a $5 per point fee for acting as the intermediary between owner and renter. Charging $22/point for OKW means the owner pockets $17/point (maybe less) before subtracting what they laid out for their annual dues, which were $11.2054 per point for 2026, and paying taxes on the income. If they charged the renter anything less than $22 per point, they would pay the owner even less while keeping their own profit constant. At some point, it's not worth it to an owner to rent their points out through an intermediary if it doesn't cover the costs to the owner.

Correct. I know it is from a third party rental agency. But another online third party rental agency has it at $20, so I was just wondering if anyone else thought it was a competitive rate.

That other one probably pays the owners a smaller fee and IMO that means would be harder to find a member to grab the reservation for you. Could be worth a shot if you aren't 100% needing the reservation though

I wouldn't pay $22 for Old Key West. Rent on this site. Many posters have points for significantly less than that.

I guess I don't rent out points from people, but that's a crazy price and it's more than 11 months in advance. Do you rent points that far in advance?
