Okay so Ed what happened…. Well we started at seven two big time sharks tried to go into the kids pin area and two security men tackled them to the ground. One pin trader traded two pins for one and was shot on the spot.

Really….. Nooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

It started at seven everybody was there and they had a ribbon across the entrance at seven they brought out Pluto and with the help of a little boy named Tony they cut the ribbon and we were off.

Jim Greene made a small speech "fore score and seven years ago…" err no wait that's not it he basically said there is one requirement its for you to have fun.

And that we did not only did we have a good time they released an LE pin trading Pooh pin just for the occasion, and is it ever cute.

Now let me tell you the kids trading area was well equipped, they had tables coloring stuff and even their very own pin trading board, my granddaughter had a blast it kept her busy all night.

We had lots of tables and chairs, and I was assured everybody… That the pin for pin rule is there just for the guest and newbies. Yes I was assured the seasoned traders could proceed normally, and they did just that.

The one pinbag rule was not really enforced either, there were people there two or more bags, wives don't count as bags kids.

At ten they closed up shop, and the traders were left to their own resources, the kids area went away, but the tables stayed… we left at 11:00 and the place still had about 10 diehards still trading.

Now for the record the three people that told me they were going to wait to pass judgment, and see how it went told me tonight that they thought it went great and will be back.

So you all know what this means I'm back in the shameless plug business I'm no host and that's fine by me, but I'm a supporter, so shameless plugs galore.

I had an absolutely great time there were a lot of good friends there, as the pictures will show, and a good friend of mine actually got two of his holy grails tonight.

The only incident was when my granddaughter (the blonde) released a bunch of balloons into the Contemporary skylight, which were quickly chewed to pieces by the air ducts up there, balloons screaming their death squeal is not pretty.

So in closing I would to say Amber I do so love you more than you love me…. Err no that's not it, the pin meet was a success y'all and its still the best place to meet.

If you have kids or spouses that don't pin trade they now have something to do, it's a friendly atmosphere and a good time was had by all.

Pictures in the Morning but here are a few taken by Larry as well as the pin.

It sounds like it was wonderful and wish I could have been there. A pin trading board for the kids sounds like a great idea.

Any Supertraders there -

I will check it out in September - gee - that is so far away.

Darlene

Wow!! It looks like a great time!!!

sigh.....don't think I will get to another Contemp meet til September.....:D Guess I will continue to live vicariously through all of you!!!:D

Wonderful!! Fred and I got there at about 8PM. Before I got to the trading area, a CM asked me if I was just arriving. I said yes, and he told me of a pin being released for the evening. He dirested me to the "Sundries" store. No Line to speak of. The CM took two out of her bag and I squealed with delight! POOH!!! Yippee!!

I did some trdaing as well. Mainly to help poeple get pins for their collections, so that was nice. No one had Poohs to trade that I needed, but it was fun trading with those who "needed: what I had for their collection. Those are the best trades to me. I did meet a nice lady, named Julie and her hubby. We did a nice trade. I traded her my Belle Princess from event and Pooh St Patty's day pin for her Mystery pin 2000 banner. So I got a good trader and she got two pins for her collection.

The kids area was just great. They had a large baord just full of pins for the kids. Some of the adults, including me were curious as to what was on that board. You could only get so close than it was off limits. Mytrader Julie was there for the first time as one another person I traded with. They said they will be back. All in all it was a very positive evening. Super trader Mike was there, but off-stage, as was Haulland. Super trader Amy was there on stage as well.

A big thanks and kudos to the pin man Jim and his staff for a great meet. We look ofrward to many more!

Blessings,
Winnie

I had to leave early, health reasons, but it was a momentus occassion. Did anyone know that those ceremonial scissors REALLY had blades in them that cut? hahah.

What time did you get there Amber and JoAnn? Sorry I missed you.

SuperTrader Amy was on hand playing with the wee folk. CM Diane helped man the "You over 14 kids keep out" doors. Area Manager Connie brought her daughter for her first pin trading night. YIPPEE we now have another bug bitee ... ummm i meant enthusiast.

There were tables galore you guys. I never did count but there had to be more than 10 of the stand up around them type of tables and then another 10 or more of the sit down type tables. People kept asking me if I had heard there was a special pin to be released last night. Well first DUH of the night, I was equally shocked and amazed as everyoe else. and pleasantly surprised.

Now I get to tell my last story of how kind and wonderful the entire pin trading community has been to me during my difficult time of occassional self pity partying.

Half an hour or so into the night my dear , dear friend Holland came over and whispered in my ear, "Can you c'mere"? I said sure, knowing that we were going into a corner to discuss how ceremoniously this had all been and what a great turnout we had and all the things Holland and I find a quiet corner to talk about. He did something that he had never done before he reached back to grab my hand (FIRST CLUE DUH!) and unsuspectingly I walked only about three or four paces with him until he stopped near the center of the room and called everyon'es attention. Well you know what a boming voice he has. I think he could call Grand Central Station to silence without the use of a microphone. WOW, the whole room just stopped like suspended animation. I'm not really sure what he said really as I was in some emotional state (SHOCK?!?) but he made a beautiful little speech about how this could not have happened without me having started them oh so long ago I think. I love knowing I did something that will be remembered and enjoyed for, who knows how long. but the greatest part is that I finally came to somewhere around the part of "on behalf of the Contemporary Resrot Pin Trading team ..... anyway he handed me a pink gift bag with rope handles and tissue paper in it. ( SHOULD THIS HAVE BEEN THE SECOND CLUE? DID HE HAVE IT WHEN FIRST HE GRABBED MY HAND? WHY DIDN'T I SEE IT?) I was so surprised and caught off guard that he had to tell me to open it. I don't remeber saying thank you , but I am told I did. I didn't get to publicly acknowledge how I could have never gone out and spread the word as quickly as it was without the help of the Littles and Oteros. I was still stunned.

Photos were taken from everywhere. poses, flashes, I don't even remeber any of them except Dizneypins Larry and Supertrader Amy. Anyway, the point was, to take one last opportunity to thank each and everyone of you for all your support, warm wishes, pins and most of all friendship. I am now well back on my way to being a pin trader.

Thanks to ALL the CMs Leighton, Carol, SuperTrader Mike, SuperTrader Darren (do any of us EVER spell his name right?) Blaine, Audrey, Don, Jeff, Ric, Mike, Judy whew all of you and most of all Scoop for talking up the Friday night pin meets with the visiting guests.

As I recall when you saw it was a pooh pin, we all heard this scream, followed by you running out of the store and doing this really awesome happy pin dance :D Very impressive I might add. :p

Hey Leslie and Darlene:D

As Queen and Vicepeachident isn't there some sort of a decree that states that royal family members, and political representatives should come down once a month and mingle with their loyal subjects.

And isn't that a tax deductible trip :D

Disclaimer:

Dear IRS I'm not suggesting anything :p

Hey Winnie, I'm with you! I LOVE Pooh!!! What a cute pin!

I'm telling the wet soaked look, very hot... most people dont like it, but uhmmm you made it work somehow. :D

Kids' area? That's GREAT news! I haven't been to a pin trade yet because I couldn't imagine taking DS with me. But if there's a kids' area, that will take of it and I'll have to sign up for one soon! :D Do they always have a place for the kids? Thanks!
