I personally would take great pleasure in putting on a stunning outfit, makeup, heels, and marching myself past that picket line so they could see what grace and class look like.
If you need a place to hide out, come to NYC.![]()

The way they're going, I could see it. Will God have killed that person because they were a ***?MsLeFever said:during M. Shepard's funeral a bunch of folks made huge angel wings and just surrounded the "protesters" so that they couldn't be seen. What a great image - defeating hate with quite peace.

And I am an experienced bailer outer(Bailor I guess) luvmydogs said:I remember seeing this reenacted in a movie for HBO--"Laramie", I believe? The men and women in angel wings as they peacefully blocked out the protesters was a beautiful, moving image.
In regards to free speech, well, I am sorry but I will defend their right to say whatever they feel like. I WON'T defend the message, but I will defend their right to say it. I think people like this are scum, scum, scum...but we just have to shout louder than they can.

It should be interesting to come and piss off 20,000+ spouses in addition to the soldiers we have here. I know the Special Forces is home, maybe we can have them secretly removedI have already seen them in action 2x now and I could barely restrain myself but now with Matt gone and my PMS and being sick. It might not be pretty. Start digging out the change lol
Anti-gay group plans local protest next week
Counter-protest being organized

The Leaf-Chronicle
Local men and women are scrambling to file petitions and organize a counter protest as news about a pending visit from the Westboro Baptist Church a Kansas-based congregation that stages anti-gay protests at military funerals for soldiers spreads through Clarksville and Oak Grove.
The church has posted an Oak Grove, Ky., visit to its upcoming picket schedule for 5 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Fort Campbell Boulevard and Chaffee Road, Oak Grove. The event is set to coincide with Fort Campbells post remembrance ceremony, a monthly memorial planned for those killed in Iraq.
Westboro Baptist Church was organized in 1955 by Fred Phelps, pastor of Topeka, Kans., to adhere to the teachings of the Bible, preach against all form of sin (e.g., fornification, adultery, sodomy) and insist that the doctrines of grace be taught publicly to all men, according the groups Web site, where a flyer announcing the Oak Grove event is posted. The group promotes slogans such as Thank God for IEDs, alleging God is killing soldiers because of the advancement of gay rights in the United States.
Clarksville PRIDE chairman David Shelton is encouraging local men and women to counter protest their hate and support our troops and common decency. Oak Grove officials today are discussing how to handle the event.
Fort Campbell officials are advising those with post access to use alternate gates Wednesday. Visitors' passes may be obtained at the registration center at Gate 7 to avoid traffic at Gate 4.

Reasonable time, place, and manner restrictions may be placed on the freedom of speech. You can't shout "Fire" in a crowded theatre, and all that.
