I thought the very same thing. If poster is still within their 10 days, they might want to give some thought to that. They could also break it up into smaller contracts, which would make it much easier to sell in the future.

Alright, you're not asking for our input or advice, but I can't resist. This is add-on pricing so new member pricing would be more (although, with this many points, might as well buy a small contract to qualify for member add-on pricing).

Using the add-on tool:
1100x243=267,300
$300 doc prep fee
$3426.58 closing costs
-$20,900 incentives
-$2,000 (I think there is the $1k anniversary offer and $1,000 for Disney Visa)
$248,126.58

Do Magical Beginnings and take $22,000 off. Rent out 2026 points for $20/point, take another $22,000 off. Rent out 2027 points for $20/point, take another $22,000 off.
$182,126.58

But, you would have to pay dues on prorated 2026, and 2027, and taxes on the rental income, so, let's really quick add another $20k on to that figure and say you're going to be at about $200k.

So, at $137,471, I think they are getting a pretty big discount. Let's say about $60,000 or about $55/point. That's a much bigger discount than you'd get on smaller PVB contract purchases.

Very rough back-of-the-envelope:

Poly direct is $243/pt right now, assuming high end discount of about $18/pt at the big tiers gets you to roughly $225/pt, or about $247.5k for 1100 points before closing costs. If you do Magical Beginnings on the 2026 points ($20/pt) and rent out 2027 at $18/pt, once you add back dues you’re still around $224k+ before direct closing costs.

I haven’t compared but did you compare purchasing direct and the cost comparison? 2028 is a very long time away to not have any points. Not bashing your purchase just want to be sure all scenarios were looked at.

Agreed. If I were going to amass a larger amount of direct points like that, I think I’d do it incrementally in 300 point purchases and break them up into 150 point or smaller contracts. That’s effectively what I did with my 600 RIV points, although I did not pre-plan it - just decided my first 300 wasn’t going to be enough .

Yeah I’m trying to avoid the need for addonitis haha. To be fair purchase is for us, kids, grandkids, and then our retirement.

The initial plan was to go for smaller contracts, but then we saw this contract, and decided that we will be using the points every year anyway (one way or another) so let’s just eat the cost up front.

I did the math on this since it was missing the 25, 26 and 27 points you would get with a direct contract when this was first listed and with the miserly incentives they have at Poly I couldn't make direct make sense if you were just taking in cost of points. If you value the missing points at $20 a piece that's $66000 of value but then you'd have to add in dues cost for the 2027 and prorated 2026 points. The resale came in significantly lower. The reasons to buy direct for me would be ability to book at any currently restricted resorts and any future resort (I admit I would have fomo), being able to break the points down into smaller and more easily sold contracts if travel habits change, gifting the contracts to adult children in the future, financial situations change ect. Also if you're out of state and won't be traveling over Christmas and Thanksgiving the ability to buy sorcerers pass and save $500 per pass saves our family $2500. But for the price saving on this contract vs direct you could buy a 150 point contract direct to gain these things.

I'm going to be a naysayer here and tell you that you should *really* consider looking over this one in detail before your recession period ends.

I would value the missing 2025, 2026, and 2027 points as about $36 in total, even with the credit for member fees at closing. So even though you are paying $124 per point, this is about equivalent to a loaded contract at $160 per point. Given the incredibly large contract size AND the delayed closing, I believe you should be getting a much larger discount on this contract.
