Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
This is where the popularity will turn into a western movie. I would NOT get food here on the 31st. It will be SWAMPED.I have never figured out the obsession with KPop Demon Hunters but my dad and I first saw them in last year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade singing Golden and we wondered who they were. After we did research Dad and I found out they were a Netflix movie. What I think Netflix is trying to do is market KPop Demon Hunters to be like The Cheetah Girls did for Disney and when you get the general picture I think KPop Demon Hunters will be the hit group of 2026 and you should see the many merchandise that they have for it. What I think this Happy Meal deal with McDonald's will do is try to get fans to buy a lot of Happy Meals because when you put music artists and McDonald's together they know that it will sell. After all it worked for McDonald's when they promoted the Kpop band BTS with the BTS meal
They are big boy meals. So these are adult meals ? Not happy meals? Seems like an odd choice.
I think I'll pass. Thought the McFlurry looks pretty tasty. They are big boy meals.

They've been doing some adult ones of late. I recall around the holidays, they did Grinch themed ones that including Big Macs or adult sized nuggets with themed socks and some other fun sides. I think they're realizing that there's money to be made in the grown up market with people whose taste buds no longer favor McDonald's but might be willing to go that route for merch and novelties.
I get that. Just surprised because of the connection to what I consider a kids movie.
I didn't question the Grinch meals because it is an older franchise and I assume it would appeal more to adults than to children.
I thought it was also just a kid movie...and then my husband acted like I'm from another planet when I said I'd never heard of it. He knew waaaaaaay too much!
People just assume animation=kids movie. Marketing-wise in the beginning it was not a kids movies. People showed it to their kids and then that's where people started associating it with being a kids movie because animation was done and it had songs in it. The originally marketing was more intended to be teens, young adults and adults especially with the theming of demons and more complex ideology and it was really meant for the tie in between kdramas (korean dramas) and an anime draw in which Netflix has been doing a lot of Kdramas in the last few years and highly successful at that.I get that. You wouldn't think Beavis and Butthead is for kids because of its rating (and a trailer of it quickly shows the adult humor), Family Guy is rated Mature to give another example. KPop Demon Hunters is PG. Appropriate for all ages (or in this case Parental Guidance for specific things) and kids movie are different. It just means that content doesn't necessitate a higher parental rating.I watched it for the music, on the recommendation of a co-worker, and it seemed like a kids movie to me. I do not just see animation and think oh kids movie. I certainly don't think Beavis & Butthead or South Park are for kids.
