i figured i needed to ask ya'alls about this before my brother gets overly pissy about it. >_>

so..have you ever been to disney world, and youre sitting happy and nice in your space ship/doom buggie/floating log/car/spinning teacup/pirate ship/whatever... and you see some person sitting there, video taping the ride, after the nice actors over the intercom just told you "thou shalt not video tape or use flash photography while in the ride for multiple reasons"? well...i dont know about you guys, but i always found this a little weird.

apparently these people do not. my brother was randomly surfing around the internet one day and stumbled upon this website. he got really angry about what they are doing.

sure, i can understand someone doing this for their own personal use. but this isnt personal use anymore. they are selling footage of all rides, shows, parades, etc. for money, for their own pocket. none of it goes to disney, and its without disney permission. i find that a little wrong, and it kind of makes me angry.

my mother suggested we say something to disney. just kind of...send them the link to the website in an email and let them handle it. but i dont know.

what would you do? thoughts, opinions?

i say it doesn't matter b/c by posting the link, if you don't do it, someone else will.

i say tell disney, someone might have already said something but it doesnt hurt to do it anyway... i think it is very wrong, and someone should do something about it.

I think if Disney wanted their stuff out on DVD or available to the public, they would have done so. I think you should tell them. Cheating Disney... that's not right.

Say something.

Also once my mom and I were in the Hall of Presidents, and someone was taking a picture every two seconds. After the show, the guy said, "that you for not using flash photography".:lmao:

And Disney has done so.......they sell 4 different DVDs, one of each park. And they go for a lot cheaper than what these people are charging online. I think Disney should be told about this as well.

Oh man that is RIDICULOUS!

it makes me pretty mad too!!

They should'nt be doing that. I mean I DEFINATELY appreciate a good ride/attraction vid. But not for 200.00$ THANK-YOU!

That is sooo silly that this person is doing this for thier own profit.

also;does ANYONE buy that stuff?! What a waste of 200.00$!!

HAHAHAHA. In the FAQ;

Q: Who filmed the footage on these DVDs?

Every split second of the over 20 hours of footage you will receive was filmed by a lifelong Disney fan, with a true "fan" eye, capturing all the details that make Disney so unique and -- of course -- magical!

right. a 'true fan'. what a GREAT Disney fan. :rolleyes2

Hmmm...I think that that person is ruining the magic for everyone! Really, I mean, why would you do that? Who would buy it? I would personally rather go there and see it in person than on a DVD.

:)

i don't like the idea of selling things that should be sold by the geniune people, not fakies...
one time, my bro and i were riding POTC and this i think Japanese guy who apparently could not understand or speak English was taking pics of the ride and this guy came on saying "No flash photography" and the guy kept taking pics anyway...

PARENTS: Hey kids guess what!? We are going to DISNEY WORLD!!!!
KIDS: Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!!!!
PARENTS: But not in person...
KIDS: *Puzzled looks on their face*
PARENTS: *Pop in a DVD*

The parents and the kids then sit down to watch the "Magic".

i just dont want to be in the wrong.....i mean...but isnt it also a violation to the cast members and park guests that were present during taping?

Yes. You need permission to be able to show someone on a tape that is being sold to the public I believe.

Yea they do, I was going to buy them when we went in December.. Oh and they're selling those too for $45 a piece or $200 for the set. I know they were not that much when I went, because I looked at them and almost bought them..

Basically these people are selling their home movies. Not only that they're horrible quality movies from what I could tell from the "previews."

Q: Is there a lot of shaky camera?

Absolutely not. All of the footage was shot with the intention of capturing the magic of Walt Disney World as well as possible from a fan's perspective. This DVD set is called the ultimate collection for a very good reason.

Hell yea there was a lot of shaky camera! All I saw in the "previews" was the camera person zooming in and zooming out, jerking the camera this way and then jerking it the other way. "As well as possible" means the best I could at the time, sorry it's crap..

"DVDs do not use Disney copyrighted video or film on attractions where it is stated as being prohibited" < they're taping all the rides eventhough on most of them they specifically say no flash photography or video taping.. (that's the way I interpret that)

Another thing, when I was looking around the site at the other things they're selling, I noticed that they are taking everyday Disney World merchandise and jacking up the prices on their website. The personalized name tags they have under the "For Travel" section do not cost $25! I know for a fact! I have one, they cost $7.50 with free name engraving! Also, whenever we go to Disney, we always go to Character Warehouse and Character Premire (Disney outlet stores) half of the stuff they're selling are from there because we see those things every time we go.

This person obviously lives in Florida and is trying to make money off living near Disney..

Isn't it also illegal to buy things like the Name tags and such, then sell them for a higher price?

I don't know, but people do it on ebay all the time.. There's another website that does the same thing this one is. My sister found it. When we went to Disney one time she bought a pack of nice glass, mickey shaped, ornaments for $25 (like 15 in the pack i think). Anyways on the website the person was selling the exact same pack of ornaments for $99..

Yes but that is an auction.

I'm talking about when people actually list a price higher than what it normally is. (sports people know this as "scalping")
