kcb - I was feeling the same way until I bought Birnbaums Walt Disney World Expert Advice from an Inside Source.

It has a wealth of information. I got mine from Amazon.com but also saw them in my local Disney store.

They also have one for kids by kids that my daughter reads every night.

Awesome!!! Welcome to the Dis! :D

I love Disney.

I start with my park itinerary.
I usually start an Excel Spreadsheet. At the beginning it looks like below, with the park hours. I also color code the Early Entry days and the E-Nights at MK

The Early Entry nights are in <B>Bold</B>
<TABLE Border=1>

Now I work out which park I want to be in on which day. This is all tentitive... nothing is cast in stone. :D But once I have an idea, I can work on looking at Restaurants and shows in that park, and make Priority Seatings based on that.

Remember that you can cancel a Priority Seating with out penalty up to 24 hours before. So go ahead and make a plan... then run it past the family... if they want something else, change it. No big deal.

I do recommend you by a guide book to read and pass around the house. My favorite is the Passporter, but WDW with Kids or the Unofficial Guide are all used by the people here. http://www.passporterstore.com/store/

Also be sure to visit www.allearsnet.com and read the rest of the info on www.wdwinfo.com

And don't be afraid to ask questions here... These folks are the best and since WDW is Huge, nobody can know everything there is. Though with the resources here they come really close. ;)

Have an Awesome trip. I can't wait for my cruise in April.

Yes, get a guide book (or several!) to help you learn about restaurants, rides, shows, and anything else you may have a question about.

I always pick the places I want to eat, then look at my trip and figuere which days I want to do which parks. For instance, my family always goes in this order, MK first, then Epcot, MGM and AK. We may also go to a water park, but not always. We also park hope, maybe do MK in the morning and Epcot in the afternoon/evening.

Once you have an idea of what parks you'll think you'll do on which day, make your PS's. And remember, nothing is carved in stone! You can always change/cancel your PS's if your park plans change last minute.

The only thing I'd be careful of are the really popular charactor breakfasts, like the Princess one. Once you get a PS you may not be able to change it, other dates/times you want would be long gone. In that case you WILL need to plan your day around the PS, and not the PS around the day-if you know what I mean.

No matter what, you'll have a great time!

Hello,

I am going through the exact same thing. The only difference is that I have to wait an entire month after you to go to Disney. I have found that once my dates have been set, July 23-30, with the hotel and transportation, I can begin the second step. I think it is important to have an idea of which parks you would like to attend. At this point, being 123 days away from your trip, it is hard to tell, for sure, which days you will be going to the parks. The reason I say this is because you may want to do priority seating a certain restaurants. The only real challenge is Cinderella's Rount Table at the Magic Kingdom. The next challenge is the Princess Storybook Breakfast at Epcot. You may not be lucky to get these reservations on the 90 mark, so will have to try on different days. However, once you have these two set, the rest you can build around them, making reservations pretty much wherever and whenever.

For example, I won't know until April 25, if I will be going to the Magic Kingdom first or later in the week. It all depends on CRT. Of course this is all assuming that you are not a Disney veteran that likes hopping from park to park. I will be going with 1st timers, so I intend on staying full days at each individual park to truly enjoy it.

Don't worry, after a week or two of research, you will know so much about Disney and the activities you can do. Sticking around the Disboard is also a great help. Just keep asking questions!

Good Luck and enjoy planning!

YOu must get some guide books, I like Birnbaums official guide, and then the passporter for wdw. Once reading these, it will be alot clearer...and things will "magically" come together. But also be sure to leave some time open for flexibility....My trips rarely go as planned 100% of the time....

Well ,
Our reservations is for 3 nights, We are starting to think we need more. Can we add to our resevations or are we going to have to get another package?

We get 1 meal a night with the silver plan should we make reservations for each, or can we choose when we get there?

The one recreation  what's that all about?

Can't wait to see the p.o.c!pirate:

The longer you stay, the more fun you will have! I have never booked a package. but I think you can make reservations within the 90 day period. The wdw guide books will help you decide where you want to go, and what you want to do. And I'm sure they will let you extend your package...providing there is room. I like to go for about 6 or 7 days, after that, I'm had enough of the magic, so to speak. But everyone is different. If you can afford more, go for it, if not, go for your 3 days and love it!

You can add, but you will have to call and check on Availability.
I would recommend making Priority Seatings (PS) before you go. You can always change the day before if you change your mind, but this way you will have a place to eat if it is crowded.

Recreation are the other things to do at WDW other than just tour the Parks.

These include Tours, Mini Golf and taking out the mini boats on the Lake. Check out this page at All Ears for complete details: http://www.allearsnet.com/pl/packages03.htm

Since you only have three days you have to plan really carefully and may even want to skip one park for this trip. Depending on your family I would do either Magic Kingdom (MK), EPCOT, MGM or MK, EPCOT, Animal Kingdom(AK)

You could try to squeeze AK and MGM in one day but unless you know where you going it gets tough to do.

You should make a list of MUST DO rides. Like PoC in MK. Because you won't be able to do them all while you are there.
Having a guide books helps with these choices.

My list would look something like this:

MK - PoC, Splash Mountain, Small World, Buzz Lightyear, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Mountain, Jungle Cruise

EPCOT - Mission Space, Land Ride, Universe of Energy, Imagination Ride, Test Track, Space Ship Earth, innoventions, Malestorm in Norway

MGM - Star Tours, MuppetVision3D, Who wants to be a Millionaire, Great Movie Ride, Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular, Rock N Roller Coaster

AK - Dinosaur, Killimajora Safari, Kali River Rapids, Its tough to be a bug, Tarzan Show, Lion King Show

Now these will not be the only things I see, and the list changes every time I go, but with this list I can prioritize my visit.

Hang in there... it will start to make sense. :Dpirate: ::MickeyMo

Is cirque de whatever:rolleyes: considered a recreation because i believe we get tickets and my wife would love to do that.

Isn't There a restaurant at the opening of Pirates of the caribbean? I remember floating around and seeing people sitting at tables..............
Or am I crazy!

That's in Disneyland...

I don't think there is a restaurant in the WDW PoTC. At least I don't remember one. Of course, I could e crazy too... :)

Here's how the Wishes work with the Silver Plan.

You get Two Wishes Per Person per Night.

Eating at most Restaurants in WDW costs (1) Wish (That is if you don't want to pay.)

Eating at these restaurants costs (2) Wishes.

<I>(Clipped from www.allearsnet.com)</I>
(2)Lunch or dinner at a Selected Signature Table Service Restaurant: Artist Point Dining, Bistro de Paris, California Grill, Citricos Restaurant, Coral Reef Restaurant, The Flying Fish Cafe, Fulton's Crab House, Jiko-The Cooking Place, Narcoossee's Restaurant and Yachtsman Steakhouse
<I>(End Clip)</I>

You can get tickets to Cirque de Soleil but it also cost (2).

<I>(Clipped from www.allearsnet.com)</i>
(2) Admission to La NoubaTM by Cirque du Soleil (reservations can be made within six months prior to arrival)
<I>(End Clip)</I>

That just means you have to buy your own meals... which there are a ton of ways to save money on.

As for Pirates... ChairborneRangr is correct the restaurant at PotC is in DisneyLand. Disney World has a slightly different version of the same ride.

Do you get wishes for kids under 3? I know kids aren't considered onresort bills or tickets.
also does the character breakfast at cinderella's royal table take 1 wish or two?
