Hi all! Hi new people!
I haven't had the energy to write but have been reading. It's a little quiet here. I've just been doing a lot of cleaning and errand-running on my 3-day weekend.
No moping on val's day, FM! Just ignore it like I do! Or send out gifts to your single friends to brighten their days. All I did last year was leave candy in everyone's in-boxes at work. It's amazing how happy candy can make a person.
PW -- where are you meeting these IM guys? Just randomly? THAT can be iffy; let me tell you!
Funny thing about eHarmony. You think you got it bad when they can't find a match for you? Well I wish I saved the message
I got. I did this many many months ago. I got a message saying something about how eHarmony does not benefit a certain percentage of the population, and that I don't fit into any of their categories, and
we can't help you, you loser!
Can you believe that???!!!! (Of course, I wasn't surprised!) It's a good thing I can laugh at myself. I can see some of these poor, unlucky-in-love chaps just slitting their wrists after receiving a message like that!
So, no eHarmony for me. I'm too cool for them.

I need to find a February date quick-like, though I'm really completely disinterested (is that a word?) right now. Bleh. Maybe I will go pick up guys at the gym or at the park while walking my dogs. Yeah. Right.
Speaking of dogs, I got some bloodwork back on my 5-yr-old lab/pit, Buddy ("My Buddy"). I had a good cry straight away when my first suspicion was that he had Cushing's disease (caused by a tumor, with an average 2-yr life span). Then I got myself together and talked to a friend who convinced me that I'm jumping the gun and that it's probably just hypothyroidism. You know, if it were a client's pet, I wouldn't be jumping to conclusions. Just goes to show you once again that I should not be treating my own pets; I get too emotional! Anyway, now he has to have some further testing (and I'm not even going to yell at myself for having to spend more money and not even getting a diagnosis!

)
Anyway, my new year's resolution of having him lose 10-20 pounds should be pretty easy if he winds up being hypothyroid. I can't believe I put off taking this bloodwork for so long.
