Guess what, I just found out that one of my friends is moving to Ft. Lauderdale in Dec. YAY! With my plans to stay in FL. I can drive to visit her it would only be a few hours right. Much better than half way across the country.

WE'RE HERE!!!!!!!! Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!! We arrived about 3 this afternoon. It's so nice to make a major change and be so thrilled about it! I'll have to get with the realtor tomorrow morning. She said she has something she wants to show me before her office lists it! Wooooo hooooo! I hope it's something I'm looking for!!

Thank goodness we managed to miss the brush fires in South Carolina. There were some on both sides of 95. And one near the hotel we were at last night. I wasn't crazy about that. You could just smell the smoke. But by this morning it was all clear. We're settled in our room, and the pups are boarded at a vet's office nearby. I like them!!! I think we've found their vet! Now to cancel Banfield! We'll be going to visit with them and walk them tomorrow. My poor little babies. First they see everything disappear from the house, then a long ride for them, then a hotel for them and all along the way NOTHING smelled familiar. Now mom took them to be boarded. Max looked worried. I hope he's happy to see me tomorrow and not mad at me. He's been known to hold a grudge for a few days. They have runs, and he and Skippy are across from each other so they can see each other. I hope they're doing well.

Poor puppies. I always wonder if mine think it's the last time they're going to see me when I drop them off. Glad you found a good place for them, though.

PW - If you've already used any Banfield services this year, you'll have to pay retail price for them if you cancel your plan. People usually will have to pay a couple hundred dollars to do that since the pre-paid services are offered at such a big discount. Everybody always gets pissed when they try to cancel; I don't know why they think they can just stop making the payments on services they've already received, but they do.

Legs...Thank you! It's chilly today all right. And it was windy on the drive up. Actually, SC was chillier than it seems to be here. I was in jeans and a sweatshirt today. I'm tired of shorts year round. LOL! DHT? He's away on business this week. Hard to believe I was in this hotel just 3 months ago. When I registered and again in the restaurant nearby, the girl at the desk and the hostess in the restaurant both said...I remember you. You were here a couple months ago. LOL! I'm hoping I like what the realtor has also. I really like one of the communities near here. I e-mailed her and said...humor me...what are the townhouses going for there? I'm sure they're out of my ballpark.

Jen...Ooooo...then if I'm going to cancel, I should do it soon. Max had his exam and all his shots a week or two ago, but Skippy hasn't been there this year. And they actually need to change his plan if I were staying with them. It cost more money last year because he was fixed. A plan this year would be cheaper. I like the vet's office where they are now...it's BEAUTIFUL!! And my realtor was the one who referred me. She said the entire staff is female. I'm sure the pups will like that! They can be shy around men.

Well actually I just have two weeks off school. I still work a full time job. So i don't truely have two weeks off or yes I would be there in a flash.

Made it back safe and sound today. Glad that you made it up safe Sandy. I was thinking about you all this week and about your drive up there with your son and two dogs. Hope that you find a nice place soon!

Had a wonderful time this past week at WL. I made the mistake of believing the weather people. The 80's weather turned out to be in the 70's with a nice brisk wind. A couple of the nights were down right cold. Ate too much, slept too late, but had a wonderful and relaxing time! Now back to reality and work on Monday!

When I went to college the first time I would work one full time job and a part time job. When I went back after having DD to become a teacher it was much harder going to school full-time and working full-time. Near the end I didn't work b/c it was just too much!

Welcome back FL Glad you had a relaxing time.

I went to a home and garden show today where I saw Carson Kressley from Queer Eye. He was at the show for one appearance only. He was sooooo funny!
I also saw DiVine at the h & g show for the first time. Isn't this the one that has appeared at Animal Kingdom?
At the show the local cable company had a "spin the wheel, win a prize" thing. So dd spun and I won a month of free cable. I was planning to get it anyway. Plus I got high speed internet access for $30 for 6 months!! I plan on getting rid of my home phone and using the money (the same $ amt.) to pay for the high speed internet. Then I'll just use my cell phone as my regular phone. My neighbors have done this and they are very happy with the results. High speed will save me sooooo much time! I am so tired of dial-up.

Has anyone heard from PW?? Hope everything is ok.

Thanks, Suzanne. Yup, we made it here fine. Thanks for the thoughts! Now I'm running into a bump in the road...renting! After checking 2 communities, I'm guessing that they're ALL going to be the same. You need to be employed and fall within a range for your income. I even went to one of the communities and wanted to pay 6 months in advance...NOPE! This is due to them receiving some sort of money from the government. Figured as much! One of the ladies at one of the communities actually stated that to me!! She just confirmed my hunch. Amazing. And the second community I checked into...the one I wanted to PAY 6 months in advance, said I was just about $500 short in my income. Give me a break! So I'm shuffling to a different hotel now, one I can take the pups to. It will be cheaper than the hotel I'm currently in and I can quit boarding for at least a week. Geez! Anyone own a townhouse in Hampton Roads they can rent me? I might have to go the private route until I can buy something. Well, life WAS dull in FL, so I can't complain about that now. DS will start school on Monday, and I'll be out job hunting! Say a prayer!! Thanks!
