First: Steven's Mother and best friend are going with us to DL in September. They kept hearing about us having such a good time and want to experience it with us. She hated the fact that we were staying at a Motel 6 (we're cheap and it's 5 minute walk away from the gate) . They're traveling across country in an RV, stopping along the way. She wants to stay at the Disneyland Hotel instead. She refuses to stay at cheap hotels. We upgraded our reservation and they paid for it! Woohoo! That much more money we get to spend on stuff! We just got confirmation that all is done and taken care of. Next, paying for the flights and Expo costs. Five months away is KILLING me.....

Second: We have a condo that we've both loved since the day we did a tour of them. Very modern, steel construction, loft like, etc. They ranged from 300K minimun all the way to 400K. We passed the group near our current loft we rent and due to the economy and the area we live in (up and coming but has a ways to go) they're priced at 199K! NOW they're affordable for us. Include the 8K government stimulus package, 10K seller incentives and low interest rates (only good thing from the crappy economy) we actually MIGHT be able to buy our first home. I'm not getting my hopes up too high, but it's hard not to.

Third: Thought I would share with you Max's Easter outfit. There's a reason Dogs plot to kill their masters in their sleep. Evidence below:

What a cute dog!

Yeah, he doesn't appear to be happy with the ears at all does he? :rotfl2:

Great news about the hotel upgrade. We LOVED staying at the Disneyland Hotel a few years back. I really liked it. If it weren't for the fact that we'll probably end up using DVC points at the Villas at the Grand Californian the next time we go, I'd stay there again.

On the Condos, are you in Uptown? Over by Deep Ellum? (which is where those lofts are, if I recall correctly) or in Downtown?

Wow that's great Z!! Gratz on the upgraded accomodations! Good luck with the condo!!! It definitely is a buyer's market! Max looks so cute!!

Thanks!

We actually live in an area called The Cedars. Old Jewish community back in the day where Nieman and Marcus family lived. It's south of downtown, where South Side Lamar Lofts are located. Mainly it's all warehouse lofts now. These condos are in about 5 areas of town, some in midtown and some in uptown.

Gotcha. Are you looking at one are over the other? I lived in the Oaklawn area my entire 8 years in Dallas, but was looking at relocating to Uptown or the "M Streets" when I met Scott and we decided to move to Orlando. Those areas both have a lot going for them.

Looks like "Mad Max" to me.

Stella would never allow such an indignity.

Wow! So much good news all in one day, how can you stand it??? :goodvibes

That's awesome about the DL accomodations! You gotta love free upgrades, no matter where they come from! :thumbsup2

Those lofts look amazing! That's the kind of place I've always pictured myself living, but could never afford it. Under 200k is a steal for a place like that! Hop on it while you can!

And your pup is absolutely adorable! He's obviously very sweet, patient, and understanding to allow you to photograph him in that getup! (you can sense a lot of "Why do I allow you to do this to me?", and just a teensy tiny bit of "I'd do absolutely anything for you! " all at the same time in that pic.)
What a cutie!! :love::cloud9:

Oaklawn condo/lofts are averaging about 300K on up for 1500 sq ft. Some are around 500K. Homes in the M Streets area for a 1200 sq ft 2 bedroom, 1 bath bungalow type home cheapest, start at 350K, upwards to an average of half a million for most.

He wasn't happy that's for sure, but he actually sat there and posed while I took the picture then furiously ripped it off.

Sorry. I meant that the areas that you're looking at had a lot going for them. Not that you should consider Oaklawn or the "M Streets".

And I was NEVER considering buying when I lived in Dallas. I . . . .wasn't wise with my money at the time. I was looking at renting an apartment closer to work. Thankfully, our situation is different enough here that we've got a great house.

What in Sam Hill have you done to that poor dog!!! :scared1: LOL.

I sure hope you are able to buy a condo! It would be wonderful for you to have your own home!

Will expect photos of it, if you do, of course!

Happy Easter! (And that poor sweet Max needs some serious ham bones or something)!

I just have one question about the condo ... is it big enough for all of us to visit?

Well of course! Hell, we have a 1500 sq ft loft already with LOTS of floor space. :) Air Mattresses are our friends.

There is a carjacker loose in the M streets. He takes cars in broad daylight with children inside the cars! :scared:
No M streets for me, thanks!

Yay for an upgrade!

Poor dog. :sad2:

Somebody needs to rescue that poor pooch, poor thang is being exploited on the internet with those pictures, he won't be able to show his great face in public now. ;)

He shouldn't be seen in public. Woke up to a livingroom covered in shredded napkins he dug out of the trash. He's in big trouble today.

I dunno......he looks pretty proud of those ears. :rotfl:

Well....we go to the open house over at Urbanlofts.com tomorrow to talk to Tammie the salesperson. She's guaranteed that we'll get approved. It's just a matter of "can we afford it", which we think we can. First time homebuyer, plus the 8K tax incentive from the govt.

Pardon me while I go throw up now.

I'm so nervous.

Woo-Hoo for you!:thumbsup2
