OK, I guess I will start the Waiting for OCT-DEC AP rate thread

Also, Susan, keep in mind you only need one adult in your party to have an Annual Pass in order to take advantage of the AP room discounts. I totally agree with ciera321 though...you will become addicted!! ;)

Hi!
I don't post to often but I thought I'd share my recent experiences with the post card rates and see if it helps anyone else. My address received a post card in my 12 year old nieces name but to our address.
I called immediately and was told there were no rooms at all available at the post card rates for our days at CBR. I asked if we were eligable to use the card and she checked with a supervisor and the answer was yes as long as it was our address. Now, I called back after 9pm the same day and asked availability again, same answer, but they did have 1 room, I had been asking for 2. I split my rooms into 2 ressies and saved $300 for 5 nights. The next morning I called and asked for 1 room. Yes, it was available, for a total savings of $600 for 5 nights on 2 rooms. Don't give up on your post card!

I keep trying, with no luck. Sprinkle some dust my way, please.....
What dates did you get? I just got off the phone again, no room for me with the postcard. I'm not givin up!

MNSusan,
Welcome to Dis.
The Annual pass is nice, even if you stay off site, because you get free parking too.
Discounts on Disney Tours.
It's great.
And not to really plug an airline, but if you find you need more trips to Disney because of the AP, AirTran runs alot of specials out of Minnesota to Orlando for 89 each way. That's how I get to fly back for visits to my family since I moved to Florida.

Have you tried letting a TA check on it for you? This may be a total coincidence but I'll share it anyway. I had a hold on a room at the Poly with the email code I received. It was the only non-suite, non-concierge room available at a MK area deluxe (actually at ANY deluxe other than AKL). It was about $40/night higher than the rate others had received for the same room but it was still a discount so I wasn't complaining and was just still hoping and praying for AP rates for either that room or one at the CR that would bring it back down a little lower. The rate I had put me just a tad over what I had set as my "maximum" I'd pay for a room but I was willing to do it b/c (1) it was the only discount I could get as of now and (2) the friend I am going to down to meet is staying at the Poly. I was getting tired of checking the boards and/or calling everyday to check AP rates and my pin # so I contacted Your Magical Journeys to see about turning the ressie over to them so they could watch for AP codes for me. An agent got back in touch with me right away and told me if I gave her my PIN she could see if she could find me something or I could fill out a form and fax it to them to turn over my ressie. Since I hadn't put down my deposit yet I let her check for me. She got me the lower rate most others had receive and told me if I'd rather the WL, I could get a courtyard view room there for less. I chose to stay at the Poly now that my rate dropped $44/night again!

It may be a coincidence that she could get me a better rate on the same room with the same PIN AND that she could get a room at the WL when I couldn't but maybe they have access to a better pool of rooms. No idea....but I'm not complaining! Not only did I get a better rate but if by some miracle it drops even lower with an AP rate (which I doubt. It's the same as the September AP rate for value season and I'm going in regular season), she will try to get it switched over for me.

It can't hurt to contact them with your PIN number and ask what they can do for you. They don't charge a fee and you are under no obligation to book what they find for you. :)

I am currently on hold...tried several times before I could even get through. All circuits were busy.

Not today.

I got my post card dates for 10/10-10/15. CBR standard rooms for $79 per night plus tx or $88.01. Don't think I can do better with AP. Are you sure your dates aren't during the black out periods? Apologies to those checking when AP's are coming out for non AP posts.

C'mon October AP rates!

yooperfan-I think that's an excellent rate-we have the 7 for 5 for those dates and our price with taxes is around $105 per night.

I have been reading this whole thread and I was wondering where do you go to ( which website) to apply to get an e-mail for a discount, we are going in Dec. and would love a discount especially for what I am paying now to go to CSR,,,thanks

From what I understand the email rate is randomly done by the marketing dept and you can't just ask for one. If you have an account at disney.com then you can put yourself down to receive promos from Disney. Its kind of luck of the draw, no email here for me :(

And just bumping up for Dec rates :)

I'm not entirely sure that the info in your Disney.com account is the same info that they see at CRO. I know the address they had for me and the date of most recent trip was different with CRO than online even though it was the same email account.

I can tell you that everyone in my family has a disney.com account and I have one in my name but with my parents address. I requested videos for myself here and at my parents and for my husband. I requested them online for DH and for my account at my parents address and I requested mine at this address by calling CRO. I got "your vacation planning video is on the way!" emails for all 3. Only one of those 3 had a discount PIN in it and that was the one that I requested through CRO. Same demographics, same address, same number of trips, same most recent trip but only the one requested through CRO got a discount PIN. That may be a coincidence, but it can't hurt to call CRO and request one, can it?

Look carefully at the email you get in response! Mine started out looking like a normal "we look forward to seeing you" email about halfway through it said "staying at one of Disney's value resorts can make your dream vacation a reality! We'd love to have you come visit us! That's why we'd like to offer you the chance to stay at a Disney value resort starting at $59/night...." and included a PIN. I ended up getting the Poly for $209 in October so it's not just value resorts. DH's email had the same blurb about value resorts making your dream vacation a reality but then said "As you might imagine, there are lots of fantastic select Walt Disney World Resort hotels to choose from, like Disney Value Resorts starting at just $99/night." ($99 is rack rate for our dates)

I was a yooper until 1978 when I graduated from Westwood! I've been an appleknocker ever since! Nice to see another Michigander on here. Have a great time in October. Are you going to MNSSHP?

I'm from Gwinn, live in Marquette. No MNSHP this time. Actually driving up to a wedding in S.C. from Orlando and sneaking in a Disney vacation afterward. Going in Jan. again though. Be glad your down there, It's been in the upper 50's and 60's this week with rain.

I'm on hold longer than normal today...

I've hung up. Couldn't wait any longer. They wouldn't release anything today with many of the CMs out anyway, don't you think?. They have sent a lot of their staff away due to Charlie.

Maybe tomorrow...
