Well, we decided to go with Walt Disney World again for our summer vacation:) The Marriott was too good of a deal to pass up! Since our Annual Passes were only good until August 31st, we booked the 23rd-31st. Otherwise we would have booked September since it is slow. We are staying at the Marriott Downtown Disney the first 6 nights and Wilderness Lodge the last two.

I am not concerned with the heat at all since DH and I love it. We have been to Florida in June, July and September before. What I am worried about are the crowds. Is the last week of August a little better or still packed? I am hoping it will be a little lighter than the beginning of the month but maybe still longer hours:) Of course Fast Pass helps a lot with crowds.

Thanks!
Patricia

I wouldn't worry about crowds at all. Parents are usually bringing their children back home to get ready for school, or they're already in school by that time.

We were there last year and it was so good we are going again his year. By getting to the parks early, and utilizing FP when available, we had very few waits at all. I think our longest was for the Great Movie Ride and that was about 15 minutes.
The weather wasnt too hot, but it we had a lot more rain than we expected(much more than your typical afternoon shower), and it did prevent us from doing some things we really wanted to. The way I look at it is, it cant be that rainy again the same week, 2 years in a row, right? ;) Hopefully!
See you there! :D

We were there last year. Rained a little but didn't get in our way. (bring poncos)CM's let us ride splash mountain over again w/out getting off.....Had to FP some rides but "walked on" a lot w/ no problem.....we don't like to pull the kids out of school and Easter break is too crowded so.......
We loved it so much we're going back again this year:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Us too.

Flying in 25th August and staying at CBM DD

Glad to hear its not to crowded, but not sure how we will cope with the heat and humidity.

However we will give it out best shot - determined to have a good time!!!

We'll be there too from the 21st to the 31st. Ordering my Coolmax clothing! Most of the Southern schools go back mid-August. I'm not too worried about the heat, hoping the crowds are light, sounds like it will be. Parents didn't want to come -- too hot they said, now they are coimng so we are getting a scooter for Mom. CamColt -- let's hope it isn't as rainy as your last trip.

Absolutely. I keep telling myself it CANT be that bad again. LOL! Here what we experienced last year...

Arrived Sun-no rain

Mon-Typical afternoon downpour.

Tues-It rained for probably 2-3 hours starting at 9:00am

Wed-Im guessing around 6:00pm it started downpouring, thunder & lightning. This lasted for the rest of the night.

Thurs- Same thing as Wed. After having dinner with the FDP, we obviously had no Fantasmic.

Friday- Sort of the typical midday down pour, but twice during the afternoon...closing the Poly pool on our 1 day to swim there. Then it started up again around 7:00, and poured for the rest of the night.

We'll be there too!

I am not really worried about the heat and humidity. WDW should be about the same as New Orleans that time of year. Rain probably won't slow us down either unless it is a full up thunderstorm or a hurricane. :smooth:

Well my gosh-lets plan a meet! It seems like a lot of us will be there the last week of August.

we were there 2 years ago last week of august.....not one drop of rain the entire week.....hot, but no big deal because between the air conditioned attractions, water rides, & the pool we just didn't notice it.....arriving Sat. Aug 23rd & leaving Sat. Aug 30th....CBR here we come!!!!!

Add me to the end of August crowd!!!

I'll be traveling with DH, DD14, DD11 and D.O.Gee the family dog . All I can say it better not rain cause I'll be tent camping at FW!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
