Here is a picture of our countdown rings I made one morning when I got up WAYYYYYY too early back in december...(please dont mind the unfinished drywall...still in the middle of doing some re-modeling)

Question: How do the rings work exactly, for counting down? I have never done a countdown like that. I actually made a huge calendar using those mickey paint chips from home depot if you ever saw the photo of it.

I have seen the pics with the paint chips and its basically just a count down the kids take turns ripping off one of the "rings" every day. The goal is to see the progress and to get to that last ring...since we have 8 days left, there are 8 rings left! we do it anytime weve got something pretty cool to look forward to!

Ah, OK I think I got it. Do you write down the number of days left on each ring when you make it originally? I think I see numbers in the photos, but not sure.

Its cute and the kids get a big kick out of who gets to rip off the next ring, well actually my DD8 really does the DS12 and DS15 really dont care and only do it when she tells them too, its cute! lol

I can see how it could be a lot of fun for kids who get more from physically doing things than just looking at them. I shall put this idea into my mental storage unit for much farther down the road, lol.

Ahhhhh! So rather than count down how many days to your trip, it's the days of the month and then DISNEYLAND. OK, that hadn't clicked for me right away

wohoo!!! I would be excited but I still have to do car maintance and idk if I will have money to do anything after they get done :/ and I have to pay car payment man bills suck lol but anyways hope we can meet up sometime during the trip

I cant believe that in one week we'll be on our way! Today is our volunteer day for GADGAD, hopefully we'll get our vouchers either before we leave or while were there, we'll have to cross our fingers, if not, we're already thinking about a trip in early december!
OK off to get our feet and hands muddy at the Food Bank Community Garden! see you all later!

We do a countdown too. It used to be the rings but now I have one of those tri fold project boards with mickey heads on it. Some of them have disney related stuff on the backs. Hmmm.. that reminds me. I think there's scavenger hunt coming up. lol Guess I'd better double check so I can be prepared. haha

And I'm sure you'll get your voucher in time. It took a few days, but it was definitely less than a week between my volunteering and when I received the voucher in my mailbox.

HOLY CANOLI PEOPLE! I have never done that much shoveling in all my life combined! it was so hard and grueling! totally worth it but it wasnt fun at all! felt like terrible punishment! wow, but on an awesome note, my kids are super-troopers! They did what they were supposed to and never complained and they seemed to have a great time and even made a few friends. I hope we get our vouchers and are lucky like Belle was but if not, no worries.

Time is getting shorter and we leave soon. Today I woke up and was the least excited ive been in the last three months of planning, not sure why but I dont like it.
Oh well, heres to hoping tomorrow I will be more excited!

I got my voucher in just a few days following my volunteering so you amy get lucky too. How exciting. Less than a week now. I know about the excitement let down. I am sure that you are like I am and you are starting to think about the work you still have to do. That always takes a little from my excitement at this point but I get it back.

I'm not as excited as I was but I can feel it there, bubbling just below the surface ready to burst through. I'll bet the night before we leave that we get zero sleep. It's Noemi's first trip so she'll be beyond jazzed. Michelle is already talking about it non stop. My poor kid is getting it from both sides. hahaha I tried to tell her all about TSMM last night and she was having no part of it. She wants it to be a surprise. lol.

I was hoping to wake up today and really FEEL it but not yet...my DH is off of work today and we are going to finish up all the last minute stuff so maybe that will put mem in a happier place....crossing my fingers for it!!
