I'm going to break this up, as I can't face writing a whole report in one shot...and none of you would want to read such an excruciatingly long dissertation on the good, bad, and ugly of our trip...(let's hope there is a happy ending! )
ok..so...we were, of course, late for our Tiffany pick up at AKL...(why Jerry still bothers is beyond me...sorry J AGAIN!) see the thing is, Emma & I decided to see what PI was like on Fri night. BAD idea...there was nooooo pleasure on Saturday morning...or afternoon, or even evening. We got in the van...and took off for the "airport" as we told the kids. Ash pretty much saw the magic from the highway, and later confessed she wasn't sure, but had an idea we were surprising them...we got to the Port, and our driver, the wonderful Jerry, somehow got it across to the lady at the entrance that this was a surprise...she was AMAZING..picked up on it right away, and took over...Jerry took care of the bags, and we went to go on our 15min "tour" of the ship...found the photographer, got them up to Minnie, and said "hey guys,,,what is the one dream you wish more than anything to come true?" Ash looked at Maddie, Maddie at Ash, and giggling uncontrollably said "go on the Disney cruise together!!"" Well good!" we said, "because YOUR'RE GOING! NOW!" I have a picture, Ashley's face is funny, Maddy was just in shock for about 2 hrs! Minnie was very excited, however! It took a while to board, got embarkation pics(we look bagged!) and were announced on board..(I love that part more than the kids!) went straight to the room 7138, surprised our poor stateroom host, Ernesto(THE best in 4 cruisesBTW) and headed to Sessions to change dining assignments..we wanted the apl rotation..my Birthday was Monday, as was the formal, and I wanted Lumieres, baby! Cristophe (HS) was accomodating, and off we went to Parrot Cay for the DISmeet. DISASTER! They close at 2:00pm...which was fine, we were there at 1 something, but I had scheduled the meet for 2:30...and I call myself a Castaway Cay member..for SHAME. While in line, we met Highflyer747 Phillip & Frank...they came with us to eat, and we had a blast! Don't forget to email me soon guys...by this time I was fading, as was Emma, so don't ask me what they were serving..all I know is Ashley ate an enormous quantity of food!
Note...for some reason(I'm sure we were just a little..er...umm...oversensitive on the subject) everyone kept offering us alcohol!!Wine, wine packages, cocktails, shots...egad! We just kept groaning and shaking our heads...After lunch, we raced...(ok, we really didn't race, painfully shuffled is more like it) to the Spa...Leonardo saw me right away, and said, in typical Leonardo fashion"OH MY GOD, what are you doing here!?" he is sooooo funny...he comandeered us at once, and told US what WE wanted for our hair for formal night.
Then it was a quick tour of the ship for Emma and Mads...then off to the kids club to register them, and get pagers. The girls were chattering away excitedly...grins a mile wide, skipping about hand in hand...I looked at Emma, and we both smiled, without saying a word, we both were thinking the same thing,,,,WE DID IT! We had planned a back up meet for the sailaway party, but of course that was pretty confusing....we finally found Phillip and Frank with Matt and his family(Donalds_Best_Pal), and Donna and hers(DopeyRN) We frantically looked for bubble blowing ladies, but couldn't find WendyK!(mental note people...sailaway meets are not the easiest) Matt was amazing, and had made tags for all of us...you rock Matt, hope you get your snake, and are working on the Magic by the time you graduate(Look out Rick, someone is gunning for your job!)
Emma didn't make it for dinner, Bangkok jetlag and pleasure Island had won...I bravely took one for the team, and squired the girls to Animators palate...Maddie loved it, Ashley loved telling her about it...we already knew our server Iso(Ash immediately demanded a magic trick from him!), but Stephane was new. Very polite, very French, very pleasant. I had already seen our Rudy at lunch, and there he was at dinner, waving across the room( he was our AS last time) I love Rudy, he is so sweet. It was nice to be home! I have no idea what we ate, but honestly, apart from 2 meals, one of them ribs at PC, nothing was really memorable...no offence, but food on a cruiseline is mass produced, I like it, sometimes tolerate it, but won't rave about it...besides, you can always be reduced to eating desserts, ALL of them...which we did by the end! By the end of dinner Wendy found us...we were still wearing Matts tags...we all exchanged numbers(Matt and his fam were close by too)
The room was a wreck, kids went to the kids club while I tried to fix up a bit...pager rang me at about 9:30, and we ordered Emma some room service and all fell into bed!

Day 2 - Key west, bikinis, Sessions, et al!
