We usually stay at one of the WDW resorts..

But a friend of mine (no kids this trip) wants to go to the beach before wintertime sets in..

so,,,

1 - Is it still beach weather at Vero this time of year...

and,

2 - What do you do at Vero Beach resort..?? (surf, fish, stroll the beach, build sandcastles.... I know... dumb question, but i reely dont know what Vero is about....)

thanx...

By "this time of year" do you mean September? If so, then yes the beach should still be very nice. I remember going to college in Miami and we were on the beach on Thanksgiving. It does get cool/cold in the Winter months, but Fall is a wonderful time to go.

Have fun!

I love Vero anytime of year. I was there last Nov and the weather was in the 80's. :thumbsup2

We have been to VB from April thru November with happy results... meaning.. I'm able to get out into the ocean and ride the waves. What I do is ride the waves, but here is what else you can do:

Vero is our favorite anytime of year! It is soooo relaxing! If you are shoppers, there are great little shops and restaurants on Ocean Dr. I leave DH and kids at the resort and I spend a day shopping down there! :)

We'll be in Florida next April for spring break, and we'll be near the Vero Beach Resort. We're DVC members and are interested in stopping by to see the resort and likely have lunch or dinner there (depending on what time of day it is).

Will this be a problem since we're not really resort guests?

And I bet if you hit pre and Thanksgiving week 2 years ago you got highs in the 50's/60's and lows in the 30's. ;) (At that's what Orlando got) But Last year was stunningly beautiful in WDW.

Just mentioning that expecting perfect 80 degree weather year round may set you up for a disapointing trip. Just keep a close watch on the forecast, and enjoy what you get!

No problem. Just pull up to the guard shack and they'll tell you where you can park. You won't be able to go into the pool area or access the beach (from the resort) but you can otherwise walk around and eat at the restaurants. Though I bet a CM would let you in to tour the pool area too (just don't show up in your swimsuits).
