Ok a question about CP???

Ok our family has never even wanted to attend this what it the big draw for people to go to the CP and what makes it so spectacular. We are not a religious family and have no church ties we were both brought up Anglican but haven't been since public school. We do not go to church and my take is CP is something to do with religion so set me straight and emlighten me on what it is and why it is so great.

I'd say it is a traditional choral Christmas program. The music is well done and the show is very nice. If you don't enjoy that type of program you probably wouldn't enjoy it.

Well, it IS religious in a way, it is the telling of Jesus' birth through songs and narration.

It is VERY moving, and always gets me in the "true" Christmas spirit each year.

If you are not religious and don't feel the religious significance of Christmas, then perhaps you can enjoy the fine narration and performances. It even "snows" a little at the end. I'm sure there are plenty of non-religious and non-Christian people who enjoy the performance.

That said, I do think it will mean the most to those who appreciate the religious significance of the event.

We are not big on orchestra types of shows we like boradway style shows like Lion King and Beauty and the Beast etc but would be bored to tears at anything other than that type of show.

We went when my my kids were 5 and 7, and they both fell asleep. (It was after a long day in the parks.) Yes, it was lovely, and if there's a big name narrator you might enjoy it, but if you're not religious and don't enjoy that kind of music you might want to spend your time in another way.

Sounds like you'd be best off leaving your seats for others, LOL. I have seen it numerous times, loved it every time, but from your thoughts here I think you'd be wasting your time. Take in a second showing of B&TB.
