Ohhhh boy~ here we go again! Anderson/VanDamme Vegas/California road trip vacation!

5. Any tips or ideas on foods or snacks to try?
Oh yeah.

Tinkerbell Twist (which I already told you about) ;)
corn dog from the red wagon in DL
chimichanga
funnel cake
bread pudding from Jazz Kitchen in DTD
a Mickey shaped sourdough bread from Pacific Wharf in DCA(if you want to eat that in the park, ask for butter at the counter and they will give you some)
bread bowl with soup from Pacific Wharf
Dole Whip
Tigger Tail (I personally cannot stand these BUT you have to be able to say you tried it)
Apple Pie Carmel apple (this and the Tigger Tail are in the sweet shoppe down near the Pooh Bear ride)

There is more, but those are just a few snacks off the top of my head. You can find pics of most of them in my TR from June as well if you want. (link is in my sig, you can start on page 7 and just scan for food pics, lol)

In case you haven't already been pouring over the menus like I do, here is a link to check out: http://www.allearsnet.com/dlr/din/menu/menus.htm

Okay, they are all on my list, too! :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 Good!

Oh, and the pumpkin fudge may or may not be there in September. I know they have it in October, but it doesn't hurt to check. Also check the candy shop on Main Street. They might have some too.

If you want to take it one step further and go beyond just having Mickey Ears emboidered this might interest you and the kids might really enjoy it:

"Having your Mickey Mouse ears customized doesn't just mean having your name embroidered on the back anymore. In May of 2008, the Gag Factory souvenir shop, located in Disneyland's Toon Town, began selling completely customizable ears. You might be wondering how a pair of Mickey Mouse ears can be customized, beyond name embroidering. Keep reading for a complete and detailed explanation!

First, customers choose an earless dome cap. The dome caps are available in a large variety of colors and styles, including shimmery sorcerer Mickey blue, flocked gray, gold, flat black, and shimmering black. There is also an array of dome cap offerings in shades that little princesses will love, including shimmery pink, pink with a fluffy pink trim, lavender with a Mickey embroidered pattern, and white with the same Mickey embroidered pattern. There is also a lime green dome cap covered in light blue Mickey Mouse head shapes. The dome caps are priced at $5.95 each.

Once customers have chosen their dome cap, it's time to pick ears. The ears snap right onto the dome caps, and are offered in several colors and styles, such as black, white, pink, silver, gold, green, yellow, and blue, and some ears have decorations on them. There's even a set of fluffy pink ears! Ears are priced separately, at $2.50 per ear. Ears simply snap onto the dome caps.

Next, it's time to choose a patch for your Mickey Mouse ears hat. It used to be that Mickey ears came with a standard round sticker that said Disneyland on it. When customizing your own ears however, there is a huge variety of patches to choose from, including many character favorites. Patches are priced at $2.95 each.

Finally, name embroidery is still available, and offered for an additional charge of about $3. Next time you find yourself at Disneyland, make time to visit the Gag Factory souvenir shop in Toon Town and customize your own set of Mickey Mouse ears!"

Now, that's cool! Thank you so much. :woohoo: I bought a pair for Reya the last time we went to Disneyland but I left it in the car one day and the ears melted.

Oh no. That's a shame they melted. Huh, who would've thought. The kids might enjoy being able to pick and choose their own hat pieces. Sort of like the Build-a-Bear of hats. LOL What a cute pic of her in her hat!!!!

Ok, here is the Mickey bread. If you like sourdough, you will LOVE this!!!!! I could eat the whole thing myself. Mmmmmmm, just tear off some pieces, slather it with butter and voila! Heavenly! :cloud9: :rotfl:

Also, you mentioned it's going to be Alyssa's b-day right? Don't forget to tour the Mission tortilla factory in DCA and if they see her b-day button (which I'm sure you know you can pick up for free at Guest Relations) they will give her a pack of warm tortillas also good with butter. :thumbsup2 Hmmm, do you see a theme developing here with me and butter...... :rolleyes1 :rotfl:
Only while I'm on vacation though, I swear. At home I'm sticking to my diet! :thumbsup2

You are making me sooo hungry. That bread looks delicious and it's so freakin' cute. We'll definitely check out the Mission Tortilla factory, we've never done that before. :yay:

What a happy Baby! Awwwww.... she looks like one of those Anne Gedes babies... :butterfly

The penny arcade is definitely worth a stop, IMHO. I have lots of memories of that place that I was able to share with my DD's. The little movie things.. so what if some of them are lame/boring... you are viewing HISTORY through an historical object (those puppies are OLD). If it were a museum you they'd be all roped off and untouchable.. here they are right out there and still only cost one thin cent!

The pinocchio puppet thing is cool. And of course the fortune teller... all that stuff is classic. Adults may not like it but the kids will think it's novel and they will have experienced...well.... their GREAT, GREAT, GREAT grandma's type of fun first hand. Do it (play at the Penny Arcade) directly after eating a piece of fudge (or some other yummy thing) from the classic candy store attached to the Arcade. It'll be like those penny candy stores I heard so much about as a kid. Making memories...old fashioned fun... I like it.

Well, my husband left to Florida today for work, so I think I need to treat myself to some retail therapy. I'm going to hit up my local dollar tree, target, and Disney Store for the kids gift bags. I'll be sure to let you all know what I get.:woohoo:

Okay, I need to get to the Disney Store soon!!!! You picked up some nice treats. I know they will just love them!!!!:flower3:

Wow, you did good!!! :thumbsup2 I never did make it out to the Dollar store tonight. I just didn't feel like heading out in the heat.

Don't you love getting good deals like that?! So much fun.

I want some Disney dollars! They are so cute. I think I'm going to get some next time I'm at the Disney store.

That was my first time shopping at a dollar tree store, it was GREAT! Thanks for the suggestion. I went shopping again today and got a couple of great deals at target. I'll post what I got later.

Well, my DH is still away. So I thought I should do some more shopping to ease the loneliness. :rolleyes1

All the goodies for the kids gift bags are now taken care of. I'm a little afraid :scared1: that I went WAY overboard, but I don't care because this will probably be the only time we'll all be able to experience Disney together. :grouphug: I want the kids to have the best experience possible.

Here's a "few" pictures of what I bought at Target today.

~ These are so great to have when you're at a restaurant and you want to keep the kids quite. Plus they can't make a mess and color all over the tables like my DD :cutie: does.

I'm glad you liked it. I also forgot that if you have a Party City near by you can sometimes find really good deals there as well. I bought a bunch of Disney sticker packets once for 25 cents each, and that's where I bought the twins birthday crowns for $2.99 each.
