Signing up! Your DD is precious!:goodvibes
Okay, let's continue with the planning! :)
We are taking our first trip to DLR Sept 6-12! Well, DH is from L.A. and grew up going to DL and I grew up going to WDW.
I will start a PTR within a week or so. I cannot wait to hear more about your trip! popcorn::

I'm ready for you to start your trip report Southern Belle. :surfweb: They finally have the September schedule up on the Disney Website, better get on it!

I'm still waiting for them to get the entertainment schedule up for October. Don't they know I have a trip to plan??? :rotfl:

Thought it was time to go ahead and add some more pictures from my last road trip to Cali.

YAY! The September schedule is finally up on the Disney website, so now I can continue on with my PTR! :cool1:

------------------------------

Just a few bits of information ~~

* Since we're going to be doing Sea World and Universal studios while on our vacation we decided to buy the Southern California pass. For only $247.00 a person it includes a 3 day park hopper, admission to Sea World, Universal Studios, and either SD zoo or the Wild Animal Park. ((pretty awesome deal if you ask me )) :woohoo:

* I bought ridemax today, so my schedule will mostly be based upon it's suggestions. ((subject to change of course))

OKAY!! LET'S GET ON WITH REST OF MY PLANNING!!

(btw not all the photos in my PTR are mine some were found online)

I can't remember if this would be your first time on Nemo. If so... I recommend... SEE IT! Get there early, bust your patootie, and see it first thing ASAP. It really puts you in a happy place. :)

:fish: No, I've never seen it before. :( I really, really want to though. But I keep hearing mixed reviews on it and how it's not worth the long wait?!? :confused3 We've never done an EMH or MM before, do people really RUN to the rides after the gate opens? ...... Hopefully we'll be able to see it, but I really don't want to wait in line for over 30 mins, do you think that would be the case if we "walked" straight there after the gates open? ((I don't run.... serious it's not pretty when I run)) :lmao:

Well, speaking of mixed reviews, I'll throw my two cents in here. I didn't like it at all. I've been on the old submarine ride many times and that used to be one of my favorites.

I don't know what happened to me between then and now, but when I got on that ride, I felt so claustrophobic!!! OMG. It was bad. And so did my DH which is really, really unusual because he is the type that can put up with just about anything. I mean he rode Mission Space at WDW without any problem and that's a ride that usually freaks people out.

For some reason this ride just got to us. I couldn't wait for it to end. And since my kids only thought it was "okay", we won't be going on it again.

The good news is, we didn't have to wait long. We went on an evening when it was drizzling and only waited about 20 minutes. Thank goodness I didn't wait an hour to be tortured! :rotfl2:

So if you even think any member of your party will have an issue with being closed in like that, I'd have them skip it. And it's not a short ride. It's about 14-15 minutes long, which is a really long time when you are feeling ill.

As for the images themselves, they are really cool. I do think they did a GREAT job with reworking what you see on the ride. But I've heard there is a viewing room were you can see the exact same thing without having to go down in the sub, and the wait there is little to none.

Sorry this was so long, just wanted to let you know what we thought. But if you can get on without too long of a wait, then I'd go for it. Just to say you did. I'm glad I can say we went on it. I just won't ever go again!! :lmao:

We were not first at the gate's/rope drop but we were in line before the park opened and we made it on the second sub! My DH never ran but he has LONG legs and I jog/walked to keep up with him. It was worth it!

People who were behind us in line at the turnstiles were about 10-15 min or so behind us in line at Nemo because they didn't hustle. You're never going to see these people again so go ahead and HUSTLE.

People were going gangbusters to get to Nemo but there wasn't much, if any, flat out running. CM's would say WALK when they saw someboyd running.

We did not try Nemo on an EMH day as we did not have access and the lines were already 60 min by rope drop. We did nemo on a regular access day and we hustled and it was WAYworth it. I give details about the experience in my TR if you're interested. We went to DL about 3 weeks ago.

Hope you make it on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is where Mommau4 and I definitely part our bread-lovin ways cause I loved every claustrophobic ridden SECOND of this ride!! I loved the smell, the sound, the images, and the stairs down to the cute little sub. I even loved my cute little seat (and I am not a cute little person but I fitted!).

P.S. Love the pic of your DB(darling baby) in the SD hat..it looks like she's sayin, "WHEEEEEE!"

:lmao: But we agree on the really important things like food!!! :rotfl2:

I also hope she gets on. Seriously, you need to try it at least once. And it's one of those things you either love or hate, no in between. I think the ride itself and the theming is way cute.
I just cannot handle being in there. Even the thought of it makes my stomach do flip flops. :scared: But no matter what, I'm glad I can say I tried it. :thumbsup2

:lmao: You guys crack me up!!

Well my Dad is claustrophobic, and my DD seems to get really annoyed when her "personal" space is invaded so maybe the two of them should skip out on the ride. However, I think the rest of us will try to make a go of it. ((providing the line isn't to long)) I'll let you know how it all pans out. ;) You two have been very helpful and it's nice to have both points of view.

my pleasure :goodvibes

I really need to get back to my TR! I've lost steam..... Summer has been busy this year! Weddings, birthdays, travel, WORK! You know how it go!

Pardon me for going :offtopic: for a moment??? I found Song of the South on Youtube (in full) and I've started watching it. It's weird to me that they use the music on Splash but nobody has really seen the movie! I'm going to have my DD"s watch it. WITH COMMENTARY BY ME, of course. I'll also read them the letter by that one woman.. I forget her name but you can find it on snopes under disney lore.... she writes eloquently about all the reasons why the movie is not ok in so many ways. I'm glad I found it though.

I know how you feel, I'm starting to loose steam too. Plus a book I've been waiting months to come out finally did yesterday, so I've been busy reading when I can..... And I've realized that it's much harder to plan a trip for a large group of people. I don't want to step on anybodys toes and I don't want anybody to think that I'm a control freak, so I need to realize that this trip needs to be one of compromise so everybody gets along.

I'll have to check out that Song Of the south on YouTube. ((I've been meaning too for awhile now)) :confused3
