Ohana's Ques.

Could you tell me about this place please. I'm thinking about dinner here. Is it a buffet? Would you recommend it. I'm looking for a special place to surprise my dh. It's our 5 yr wedding aniv. and we were married at Sunset Pointe. Thanks!

Ohana is an all-you-care-to-eat meal served rather uniquely.

When you sit down, you are brought drinks and a large lazy-susan with delicious rice, green beans with bacon, salad, and one or two other items I can't recall.

Then, the REAL fun begins - the meat. Servers continually walk around with huge skewers of steak, pork, chicken, and shrimp, wonderfully grilled and served fresh off of the skewer into your plate.

It's a wonderful place. I ate there for the first time last month, and was extremely pleased. I'm a big protein eater, and even I had to repeatedly tell them "no more please!".

It was a great experience.

I just love Ohana's it is so tasty and I could not imagine a trip without a stop. I have eaten at Ohana's a few times and each time there had been an anniversary or people on thier Honeymoon and they have annouced it to the dining room. I'm not sure if that is a standrad practice or not, but it has happend when I have eaten there. Here are some pics I took at Ohana's in January 2005.

It is a lot of fun. maybe not as quiet and intimate as you would like for an anniversary as it is a real family place, with hula hooping for the kids etc. Loved the atmosphere, the food and the service and there is no way you will go home hungry. I think it is a WDW must do at least once.

Love Ohana's! It is always on my must do list for dinner! The food is delicious the views from retaurant are fabulous and the atmosphere is great! After all....Ohana means family! Try it, you'll like it!

DH and I LOVE OHANA!!! We make late PS's and sit and watch the fireworks over the castle while we are served our meal at our seat. Thanks for the pics above scoutsmom99 It made me hungry. GO ENJOY YOURSELVES!!! it will be great.

The lazy susan items make me happy at Ohana. They must make a fortune on me because I fill up on won tons and don't eat much meat

What sort of flavor does the wings have? Is it sweet or spicy or hot?? Also, do they have "regular" BBQ sauce available?? My little DD won't eat meat without it!

Honey Coriander wings.
They have a bit of a kick to them---but not a lot. They're very good.
BTW, if you want seconds of anything on the lazy susan, just let your server know.
The food is YUMMY.

What kind of food do your kids eat there. i would love to try it next time we are there but my kids are on the all-american kids diet, basically chicken nuggets, burgers or pizza when we are out.

We ate there for the first time last month. All five of us (myself, DH, DD-13, DS-9, DD-4) loved it! The bread, green beans, salad and meats we fabulous! Our PS was for 8:30 and we requested a table by the window to watch Wishes! The kids participated in the coconut race, a hula lesson, hula-hoop contest and a parade. Fun for everyone! We will definitely go again.

We had our anniversary dinner there on our last trip. It was DH's favorite meal of the whole trip. He's said he wants to eat there and golf again on our next trip. Everything else is up to me.

He said the bloody marys were very good!!

My kids ate macaroni and cheese and the bread that was served...and they actually ate the green beans that were on the lazy susan! Oh...my kids are both steak eaters so they had the skewered beef, but I have to say that the Turkey was the best! Go
there once at least...it was fun!

I agree with you, Micca !! I LOVE the shrimp wontons and the wings. I am completely happy just eating the appetizers at Ohanas.

We liked the meat, too, but were disappointed in the shrimp. It's cooked in the shell and had no real flavor.

ETA: Just looked at Debs site it said won tons are shrimp & vegetables.
I'm not a shrimp eater but oldest GS is.

My daughter and I really enjoyed O'hana last year....yummy food, great informal atmosphere. Like some of the other posters have indicated, it can get a little loud. If you have a large group, you may appreciate that because you guys might want to get loud also!!!

I ate here last month for the first time and Oh WOW!
It was great. It's all you can eat served family style. Very nice and the food is great. Love the wontons and pineapple
I would say it's a must try!

I'm not a shrimp eater either (or seafood for that matter really), but I can't taste the shrimp in the wontons.
