We have eaten at O'hanas at least once a trip for the last 10 years. On average we visit twice a year. Our last visit was in October. Faithfully, we went to O'hanas only to find it had changed. They got rid of the Hawaiin bread and the pineapple. They also got rid of the shrimp wonton. Sometimes the meat is dry and tough. Other times it is fantastic. However, given the changes we probably won't be as faithful as we had been. Any suggestions for a replacement. Family of 5, 42, 42, 12, 7 and 4. Obviously been to Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Liberty Tavern, Whispering Canyon and the like. Is Brown Derby good for kids?

One of our favorites is the Garden Grill in EPCOT. They had changed the menu a while back but due to many complaints, they have changed it back. We tried it again on our last trip earlier this month and it was very good...smjj

The Brown Derby is just fine for kids. Fantasmic almost guarantees there will be plenty of kids on hand at dinner.

Why mess with something if it isn't broke? :confused3
In my opinion that is what happened too the menu at O'Hanas.
We will not be going back. :sad1:

O'hana has been off our list since our first visit there, about a year after it opened. It was never anything we really liked. It was good for the fervant meat-eater, I suppose, and for folks who like the "entertainment" for the kids (but I feel that Whispering Canyon was always much better in that regard).

I wonder if, with these changes, they're testing some new menu items instead that might be more to our liking. Does anyone have a recent menu -- one since the changes?

Brown Derby is in no way comparable to O'hana. Brown Derby is truly fine dining. The food and service are far superior to that we experienced at O'hana.

Excellent alternatives to O'hana, IMHO, include Whispering Canyon and 50s Prime Time.

In our opinion the changes to Ohana's menu was an improvement!! We very much enjoyed the changes in October.

Brown Derby is wonderful for kids. I kind of got the feeling there that not a lot of kids do go there so the waitress paid special attention to ours. They felt really spoiled and my DS (8) declared it the best meal we had. Will be returning! Any place that dotes on my kids gets lots of return business!

Our boys enjoyed BD aswell. My finicky eater enjoyed the chicken soup which tasted homemade. Not your "open the can" soup variety. It had Mickey noodles which made it fun! BD is also excellent for adults! Their signature Cobb salad is wonderful and try the lamb chops or the grouper...both standouts in their own right. For dessert we enjoyed tha famous grapefruit cake. Either way you and your children will be winners!
