Ohana with kids?

I was looking at the Menu for Ohana and it said that you could make a request for additional childrens choices. Could someone explain this? Do I request when I book, when I check in, or just to the waiter. I have extremely picky kids!

We took our 3 dd's to Ohana last year. Our waiter was great- he offered to bring out some special things for the kids before I even had a chance to ask. He brought out pizza, mac and cheese, fries, and chicken tenders, all family style. My girls loved it. Ohana is a must do for us now. Have fun!

I ate at Ohana with my family in May, including dd4. She's pretty picky, but there was plenty for her to eat even without asking the waiter for something special. She especially liked the steak kabobs and the cheesy potatoes.

We dined at Ohana last October and the same thing happened for our boys. Except they wanted hot dogs and chicken tenders...and that is what they got! It was great. The entire meal I mean. Dh and I loved the food. The boys loved the kiddie food (and even some of the grown up offerings). We just mentioned it after we were seated and it was done for us with no questions asked! Ohana is tops in our books. Our very favorite sit down meal in all of WDW (at least for the food...we like others more for the characters! ).

When we went in July, the kids were given the option of basically anything on Kona Cafe kids' menu. Ours had chicken tenders and grilled cheese.
