I have a ressie at each for the morning we go to Epcot. Kona was booked first but thinking DD8 and DS5 would enjoy O'hana more.

What would you pick? I"m 50/50..

Morning? 'Ohana has a character breakfast which has (in my opinion) poor food and poor characters. Some people LOVE 'Ohana's breakfast. I'm not one of them.

But I'd take any characters over no characters. Have you looked at 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian?

Canceled 1900 due to poor character selection..then feld bad for the kiddies...and booked O'hana.

Confused..

I have had breakfast at both places....numerous times. IMHO the food is about the same at both place...no offense to the previous poster but we found the food at 'ohana to be the same as every other disney breakfast buffet. How many different ways can you make mickey mouse waffles, sausage, and bacon? :)

I thought the food at both places was fine, but I enjoyed the character interaction at 'Ohana.

I have not eaten a Ohana but I will say this- when we had breakfast at Kona Cafe it was wonderful. The food was great, the service was outstanding and the whole meal was relaxing (hard to do with a 4, 3 and 1 year old). Watching the crowds and chaos outside Ohana made us very happy we chose Kona :)

the food at Kona is much better- plus the coffee is delightful. O;hana is good if you are looking for characters though

You canceled 1900 Park Fare because of poor character selection but booked one at Kona which has no characters? 1900 has Alice, the Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins and some other I can't remember.

The only reason I lean away from 'Ohana is because it has Lilo and Stitch for 2 of it's characters which are almost the easiest I've ever seen to meet at Hollywood Studios. I've never even seen them with a line above 2 or 3 people.

Mary Poppins and the Mad Hatter are more difficult to meet than Lilo and Stitch, even Alice usually has a line at Magic Kingdom of at least 10-12 people. If I recall correctly they have the same food at 1900 that they offer at 'Ohana's PLUS MORE like custom made Omelets and it's a buffet while Ohanas is family style.

If the characters arent' that important, I say Kona Cafe. They have a pretty good selection for breakfast on their menu. The Kona press coffee is great, and Tonga Toast is just delicious!! I know even with an ADR, you can wait a long time to be seated at O'Hana. I don't think I have ever waited for Kona at all!!

Agreed. If it's just food then definitely Kona. The Tonga Toast is amazing.

Kona will be cheaper and you can select from a great menu. You will not walk away hungry and it will be quicker.
'Ohana is a lot of fun, a great buffet served family style , great view, Mickey and company(Stitch, etc) has a parade. Lots of picture taking opportunities. You can't go wrong at Kona or 'Ohana. If your pressed for time and $$$$$, go to Kona. If you want to have nice semi-relaxing time for the little ones, go to 'Ohana.

I have eaten at both and like both. If you are eating breakfast and want to be out fast than Kona. If you want the character experience which is cute than Ohana. The food is good at Kona but I enjoyed Ohana's more. The kids will really enjoy Ohana the parade is a lot of fun. :)

Totally agree with you on this one , when we were there in oct last year I had made ressies for both Kona and Ohana's, Kona being first, when we got to Kona we throughly enjoyed the food, service etc, it was lovely, Ohanas was chaotic! I had realised that the food was family style and as I have a very fussy eater decided against eating there and using an adult credit for someone who wouldn't eat all the food. We cancelled it , it would make someones day the CM said when I did that so that was good!!!

If you made a reservation for both you might not have any reservation at all.

Disney has been known to cancel ADRs for those who book more than one for the same time period. You are only supposed to have one ADR at a time

It's not a good idea to book multiple reservations and then think you'll decide later. One - you might lose both reservations, and two it really isn't fair to others.

If you like quality, go to Kona. If you like quantity, go to O'Hana.

They are two of my favorite Disney restaurants, so you can't go wrong.

If you're going with a larger group, O'Hana is probably more fun and will be a better choice. If you're going with a small group, you'd be comfortable at either location.

Kids love O'Hana - especially with the broom races.

We've done both and I LOVED (more than loved actually) Kona for the food and the service. We thought 'Ohana was ok. If I had to pick one of the two for me alone - it would be Kona. If I had kids that wanted a character experience - it would be 'Ohana.
