I made my ps for 5:00, the first dinner seating. Has anyone done this? About how long should I expect dinner here to last?

We've had the 5pm seating before and were taken right in at 5pm exactly. Our server was right on top of things and we were completed with our meal within an hour. It was one of the fastest sit downs we had that trip. There were 4 in our party. We've had later seatings there too and they've gone both ways. Sometimes we were seated pretty close to our PS time and another time we had to wait close to 30 mins. Enjoy, this is one of our favorite places.

:flower: We ate at the first seating last May. It was nice as the place was fairly quiet. We were served fairly quickly and had a nice dinner. I would say we were there 30 minutes before a coconut race was held. I would suppose that your dinner would last as long as you wanted it to. Not sure if you wanted a quick meal or a leisure meal.

Nevertheless, I would highly recommend it and see no problem with the first seating of the evening. :flower:

Thanks for the replies. I have always dreamed of an evening meal here then going out to see the fireworks and EWP from the Beach. However our trip will be a whirlwind with a lot to see and do, so I decided I will still definately eat here, but the first seating will help us keep a schedule to see all that we want to. I wanted to know if we'd be seated and served quickly as I would love to see the fire dancer/torch lighting ceremony in the lobby at 6pm before going over to the Mk for EMH evening. I can't wait.

We have had the 5:00pm PS twice. Both times we were taken at about 5:15, and our meal lasted about 1 hour. It could have gone quicker or lasted longer if we wanted though. We also saw the coconut races 2 or 3 times during the meals, but we never saw the hula hoop contests.

We had a 5 p.m. seating in March. It probably took us about 45 minutes to finish eating our meal, but we lingered quite a bit after that. We did two coconut races and took our time with dessert. My husband and I also had one of the fun tropical drinks.

We also made our ps seating for 5:00. I have found that this works really well with our children. Another benefit that I have found with the first seating is getting a better table.

I've had the first seating twice. Both times the wait for the table was less than 10 minutes and I'd finished eating within 45 minutes. I could have stretched that time out more - and wish I had savored the meal - but if you're pressed for time, you can most likely be out of there by 6:15 or so.

I am so torn to get the first seating here on our first night, than do the MNSSHP afterwards... and I read that some get into MNSSHP at 4, not 7 :confused3

I do know I want to savor this meal, the night is my mom's birthday, and dd loves Ohana's as well....

Good think I have a few months to make a descion!! :rotfl:
