Yes - Bill Clinton gave them Tax Exempt status as a bonafide religion. Whether or not that canbe taken away - I dont know.

ANd it's not just Germany standing up to them. Theyre currently banned om Belgium, France, Germany and Greece. Germany taking the most avid stance against them.

well a big

to those countries.

and what the hell was Bill thinking??????? they must have blackmailed him with that Monica thing - oops it came out anyways

aren't there people who specialize in deprogramming people who have been sucked in by cults?

maybe we should all pool our money to get them to snap tom and katie out of it

Well there was - didnt I ever talk about the Cult Awareness Network:

CNN: http://www.cnn.com/US/9612/19/scientology/index.html

WIKIPEDIA - http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cach...lt+awareness+network&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=2&gl=us

PRIVATE SITE - http://www.skeptictank.org/moxon.htm

Not only did they sue them out of business - Scientologists then bought the name AND phone numbers of the Cult Awareness Network. And still run it as such... I guess to keep an eye on people, if someone wants to leave.

From here:

Tom Cruise belongs to this cult, which claims to have 8 to 15 million members. Actual current membership is estimated at 40,000 to 80,000 worldwide. According to Scientology, you must give them all of your money, get rid of all your friends and family who are not also in Scientology and you must work to recruit other humans to become Scientology members. The more humans you recruit to this cult, the more auditing sessions you can receive for free. Auditing sessions produce a drug like feeling from the equipment and vitamins that are used. You can also purchase auditing sessions for around $1,500 an hour. Auditing sessions get you to higher levels in the cult. Tom Cruise is an OT 7. This level gives you the ability to fly and move stuff with your mind.

It is rumored that the highest level in Scientology, OT level 8, informs you that L. Ron Hubbard is your god. The most interesting part of OT8 is that it gives you the ability to kill people with your mind. There is an OT level 15, but Scientologists believe that none of us will ever see it in our lifetime. According to them, OT 15 doesn't happen until sometime in the distant future. Learning what is Scientology is just like Dungeons and Dragons or any other role playing game, except Scientologists call it a religion. Because of this they don't have to pay taxes either.

i heard about that - wonder if his dad is still in

this is all so very interesting.

how can anyone who reads any "outside" information turn around and think it's a good thing?

i know that people who get sucked into cults do so because their mind is weaker and they are searching for something that the cults are more then willing to provide to get them in but since the main goal of Scientology is to recruit celebs to "legitimize" their religion the celebs aren't born into the religion and aren't courted until the are a name in the biz why would any of them fall for that stuff?

tom married into the cult so they snagged him early and he seems to give them all the credit for becomming a success (which he shouldn't because up until recently i thought he was good)

Actually, many people in Hollywood are involved before they become famous. There is at least one well-respected and very successful acting coach who is a Scientologist. My impression is that he either directly or indirectly encourages his students to study LRH.

interesting - Tom, Katie, John T, Kelly P and other celebs aren't listed there - Kirstie Alley seems to be the only one.

though Tom's assistant is listed there

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u4yXGE2zI2o

there are more but theses will add you to them

What do these seem to have in common...they all seem to have rouble getting there thoughts and explain apsolutly nothing. Everytime I watch a viseo and someone asks...What is Scientology " no one can explain it.

holy crap - i haven't read so much on one topic since the Harry Potter books came out - dh is starting to wonder if i'm thinking of joining them HAHAHAHA

NO!

Even if you wanted to you would have no idea what you were joining and you cant ack them because they cant explain it...and they all talk like a bumble of idiots.....

Even Oprah asked John and he could not explain it and he talks like he is missing a few brain cells also...:rotfl2:

To avoid identifying myself too much, many of those businesses sound familiar from when I worked for the Scientology owned company. That company close down a few weeks after letting me go, so they are not on the list (at least under the name I worked for them under.)

Good lord - this one takes the cake.

hey buddy - i can go outside and enjoy the day too. I fee the sunshine. I don't need to fry some brain cells to enjoy life.

he's no different then a lot of people who follow religion - he claims being a scientologist is the reason he never got into drugs when he was younger - ok so be it - good for him - he had some place to go to which kept him off the streets (so to speak) and away from drugs - BUT scientology isn't the only place or belief that could do that.

why can't these people take credit for their own work, for their own strength to get through a situation without saying they only reason i got through this was because of scientology (or my faith)

people don't give themselves enough credit and faith way too much.

gotta love when he says the books been on the top sellers list for weeks - dude when your leader tells everyone to go buy a copy a week it's not because it's a good book its' because your being TOLD TO BUY IT, be a good boy/girl, support what you believe, this too will help you become an OT

by the way - if tom is an OT V what's John?

45 minutes Video - but it's a 48 hours show about a kid who killed his mom, when he stopped taking his anti-psych meds when he turned to Scientology.

i'll tell you this - there is only one part of that that i agree with (well on the scientology's part) it's when the oz women Scientology spokeswoman near the end says that you have to do your research - i'm sure she was talking about going to medical school and researching ever single medication but i do agree with her there.

i'm not a fan of medications. i always ask my dr is it really necessary that i take that - would my own system take care of it by itself. that said - if there is something really wrong and i've asked the dr whom i've put my trust in, if it's really necessary and she tells me yes - then i'll take the flippen pills.
