Oh, Just A Few GALLONS of Pixie Dust! - A July/August 2012 TR

If John Stamos showed up to serenade you at the Grand Floridian piano, you'd have to change your TR title from " A Few Gallons of Pixie Dust" to "A Dump Truck Full of Pixie Dust"! I just love your funny commentary. You are a great writer!

The video is so cute! Looks like Donald was a lot of fun that night!

I love all of the Contemporary photos! I will stay there one day....whether it's in the main building or in BLT!

The Grand Floridian looks so pretty! I've never even been just to look around....can't wait to see it in October for our date night. Your Full House tour is too funny! I vaguely remember that episode. But, as you mentioned parts of it, it all started coming back to me. :rotfl:

I LOVE the Disney episode of Full House! This makes me want to go back and watch it again! That was such a fun idea for you guys to go check out all the spots at the GF!

Can't wait to hear about your Magic Kingdom adventures!

So, I have seen that episode (let's be honest- what girl who was alive in the 90s hasn't?!)... but I don't remember the piano.... idk why I don't remember that part. I'm totally going to have to get on youtube and see if I can find that episode to watch it again. I love the pictures... except for the trashcan one... I saw that and was like... uhh... :confused3

I was a huge fan of Full House back in the day. I remember that episode vividly!

IT'S TIME TO CELEBRATE MICKEY MOUSE...

...with a video.

I'm excited to share this one! It's so cute.

THE BEST PART INCLUDES DONALD DUCK!

VIDEO: Chef Mickey's!

Please forgive my dad's finger in part of the video. HAHA.

I hope you enjoy it! And remember, you can find my spectacular videos anytime on the Table of Contents on the first post of the TR!

Continued in Next Video Post

2 things... LOL at your dad's finger making an appearance! And your dad when it was time to twirl the napkins... he looked all like, "please, this is Chef Mickey's. They have amazing food and I can not stop eating it to twirl a napkin." or at least that's what I presume he was thinking! :rotfl:

WOO, I loved these updates for 2 reasons:

1. More BLT/Contemporary pictures. As you know after my little "update" I am clearly counting down the days until we can book for next spring break. I hope BLT is still available then. In fact, I actually googled BLT today to find pictures. GAH I just want to stay there (which is sort of strange because I've always thought the Contemporary's theme wasn't as good as some of the other resorts. Crazy, I know).

2. FULL HOUSE REFERENCES!!!!! Yes, the Disney World episodes are awesome. I have that season on DVD (OK, who am I kidding, I own every season of Full House on DVD :rolleyes1 and Jodi Sweetin actually came to my college so I got it signed by her). Anyway...love that you went to the GF to find all the Full House spots. Once when we were watching it my sisters and I said we should go there to find the exact room they stayed in because right before Jesse serenades Becky, you can see the room number!

BAHAHA the whole way you describes Michelle and Stephanie just had me literally laughing outloud. And snow white. BAHAHA so funny. And John Stamos... God, sometimes I can't even watch full house because I get sad that I'm not married to him. :lmao: And yeah... what the heck steve, pullin' out the big bucks! Oh Lord, I love that episode with my entire heart and soul. Thank you.

I've been reading along with both your TR but never posted before now. I just had to tell you that your pictures of BLT is totally making me re-think my "dream" resort. I've always wanted to stay at the Poly but now I really think I need to stay at BLT! Maybe for my "Fabulous women of 40" trip I'm planning with my BFF for 2017. Wonder if I could hold out that long. :lmao: pixiedust:

I love all of your Contemporary pictures! I'm sure I'm going to be doing the same thing when I stay at BLT, taking a million pictures of everything, it's so beautiful! :lovestruc

OMG the Grand Floridian!!! :worship: That is my ultimate dream resort! I love that Full House episode, I was always so jealous that they could stay at the GF! And they just paid for Kimmy to go to? Must be nice! And yeah, how did Steve get to stay there? He seems more like a value resort kind of guy...I don't even know if the values existed back then, though, I can't remember! :rotfl:

:worship::worship::worship: We're not worthy, oh trip report writing Diva! Seriously, awesome updates! Who doesn't love Full House? Who doesn't melt at the very thought of John Stamos? Who doesn't think the Grand Floridian is flawless Victorian-Disney?

NO ONE, that's who!

I used to work in the hospitality industry at a resort on Cocoa Beach; and when GF opened, Disney comped several of us with a weekend stay, including park tickets, so we'd recommend the resort to our guests. It was chi-chi-poo-poo perfection!

your full house references totally had me cracking up! I loved that episode too, sometimes you can still catch it on TV.

Glad you guys enjoyed your time at the GF and sorry John Stamos wasn't available that evening! :rotfl2:

Hahah thank you! We have all the seasons of Full House on DVD (seriously) and always watch it before or after going to Disney. It's so fun!

We did, thanks! Hahah I know, right? Now he'll have to write an apology song for me instead.

TWO updates in one day??!! Sounds amazing to me~

I love being in The Contemporary. I could literally just sit in the Contempo Cafe all day and just admire its pure beauty. THE MONORAIL. *breathes* I've got tears in my eyes. It's just so beautiful.

Ahem. Moving on. I LOVE the Skyway bridge - it's gorgeous at night when the castle's all lit up, just stunning. Although, not fun when it's super windy outside, as there's obviously big open spaces that let ALL the wind in, haha. My hair can be beautiful when I start at the beginning of the Skyway bridge, but by the end - it's a rat's nest. That's why I always wear a hat. Problem solved ;)

I LOVE taking pictures from inside the monorail and then posting them on Facebook and having people guess which hotel I'm outside of. Most people are like "Whaaat?" but my true Disney lovers know exactly where I am. Oh, the magic of Disney.

The Grand Floridian. Sigh. How stunning. I've never seen the Disney episode of Full House (I know, I know ... shame on me! *runs to youtube*)

The picture you took with the palm trees and the Poly in the background is beautiful. SO pretty~ I wanna be there right now!!!! *stomps foot* Ahem.

I thought I was one of the only people who took pictures of the garbage cans - I actually love the garbage cans at Disney - how they all fit into the themeing of each park.

A monorail sticker? I don't think I've ever seen one - or maybe I have, I'm not sure - but I want one, haha.

YAY for EMH~~~~ I can't wait to see all the fun that was had at EMH at MK, which is by far, my favorite EMH~

Hahah yes! I had too many pictures for one, and I didn't think one update about the Contemporary would be too interesting for everyone.

I KNOW! I feel the same way! I know on all my future trips that I'll be making excuses to go there because I love it so much and I know I won't be staying there for a very long time. It'll be worth it though, so I can fulfill my quest to stay at all the Disney resorts! Four down... haha ANYWAYS, I completely agree.

Hahah thankfully we never experienced much wind while we were walking on it! I agree though, it's so beautiful! We watched the Electrical Water Pageant from there one night... sigh, I miss it so much!

OH that sounds like a fun game! That's awesome. It's just so fun to take monorail pictures!

OMG you must watch it! It's called "The House Meets the Mouse"... look it up right now!!!

Thank you!! I love that one too. Hahah I think it's a pretty trash can! I agree with that! They could have just stuck generic trashcans everywhere but NOPE! They're too awesome to do that!

Haha I want a new one! Mine got messed up. It honestly looks exactly like one of those children's airplane stickers. It has the wings and everything, but instead of saying "earning my wings" it says "monorail."

Hooray! We had a lot of fun at EMH, can't wait to share!

Frist off, Donald is AWESOME in that video, and I love Jacob with Pluto. I always love character interactions where you can tell the characters really care about the people they're seeing.

You are totally making me re-think my stance on the Bay Lake Tower. What amazing views!

AUGH I love the Grand Floridian. Danielle and I have been discussing saving up so we can buy some points for the DVC at Grand Floridian that they're currently building. Hey, we can dream!

A visit to the Grand Floridian is one of my "must do's". It doesn't feel like a visit to Disney until I've stopped at all the hotels on the monorail loop, but I always like to spend an extra long time at the Floridian. And I remember watching that Full House episode and both loving it, but also getting annoyed with all the little inaccuracies. What can I say? I'm a giant nerd :)

Can't wait for the Magic Kingdom!

Right? He was so much fun! I totally agree, Pluto was so sweet. All the characters should be like that!

GOOD! I wish more people would give it a chance... it has amazing EVERYTHING!

That would be amazing! Hahha I totally get it. I can't wait to see what their villas are like!

That's an awesome tradition! Hahah yes, I totally understand! When I had never been to Disney it didn't bother me, but now it does. It's much worse on Boy Meets World! Those TV shows, I tell ya. :rotfl:

You update made me go on youtube to see if I could find that episode of full house, but no luck. Boo!

I think exploring the monorail resorts, especially the GF, looks like a ton of fun.

I do love that view on the bridge between the contemporary and BLT.

I see that the new GF DVC is coming along. Can't wait to stay there. ;)

Oh man! If it helps, the episode is called "The House Meets the Mouse."

It really was! I had been to the GF before to see the gingerbread house, but I'd never seen it in its 'normal' state. It was so nice!

I do too! I know it's just a bridge, but it's such a relaxing spot!

Definitely! I can't wait to see what it looks like, inside and out!

Great updates Marissa!

Isn't the GF beautiful? I will stay there one day!

Thank you so much!

YES. I can't get over it! Hahah, I hope you get to! I really want to as well. :)

So funny that you posted this! Last weekend's "after the kids are in bed" activity was Brandon, me, and some awesome cheese dip, sitting in bed and watching the Full House Disney episodes! (Yes, we're wild like that!)

Here's what I took away from it:
Their park-hopper passes must have included time-travel, as well. They were all over those parks and accomplished SO MUCH before the three o'clock parade:lmao:!
Steve just randomly spent part of the day missing DJ, then just showed up at the airport and hopped a plane and was in FL in minutes?? Mmmkay.
Chip and Dale just sit around waiting on picnic baskets on random docks, so make sure you keep an eye out.:rolleyes2
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the last scene with Jesse playing in front of the castle is actually Disneyland, right? Sure looks like it what with all those trees. I could totally be wrong, though, so don't quote me. And the Rippers are obviously more than a little basement band if Disney is having them on the forecourt stage! AWESOME! So why are they still living in the attic???

We had a blast re-watching this, and now I'm pretty sure I need a GF pilgrimage, as well:thumbsup2. I've never even been there ONCE! But I'd totally pull a Steve because I'm classy like that.

That's awesome! Oh my goodness, I don't even have kids yet and I'm 'just as wild' as you... so don't even worry about it. HAHA.

You crack me up!!! I totally agree with ALL of that! Gotta love those cheesy sit-coms and all their gloriousness! Oh my gosh, if you think Full House is bad, watch the Disney episode of Boy Meets World! I love it, but it's RIDICULOUS!

Ya know what? I've never even noticed that before! Now I need to go watch it again and see what you're talking about. Darn. ;)

If John Stamos showed up to serenade you at the Grand Floridian piano, you'd have to change your TR title from " A Few Gallons of Pixie Dust" to "A Dump Truck Full of Pixie Dust"! I just love your funny commentary. You are a great writer!

GOOD POINT! Hahahaha. Aww, thank you so much! I really appreciate that. :goodvibes

:rotfl:

Thank you! Ahh he was awesome! It made me so happy.

I'm glad! Oh my goodness I know I've said this so many times, but I REALLY hope you get to! I want to stay in the main building someday too, since it's technically a different resort.

It really is beautiful. Oh wow! That's exciting, it'll be a completely new experience for yall then! Hahah thanks! I just love it.

I LOVE the Disney episode of Full House! This makes me want to go back and watch it again! That was such a fun idea for you guys to go check out all the spots at the GF!

Can't wait to hear about your Magic Kingdom adventures!

Me too! I know what you mean! We started to watch it when we got home from the trip, but the Olympics were the priority haha.

Thanks! Can't wait to share!

I saw that and was like... uhh... :confused3

Oh my goodness you must watch it again! He just hijacks the piano and starts singing!

No love for the Disney trash cans?? :sad2:

I was a huge fan of Full House back in the day. I remember that episode vividly!

Yes, such an awesome episode! Cheesy, but awesome! HAHA.

2 things... LOL at your dad's finger making an appearance! And your dad when it was time to twirl the napkins... he looked all like, "please, this is Chef Mickey's. They have amazing food and I can not stop eating it to twirl a napkin." or at least that's what I presume he was thinking! :rotfl:

Hahha oh, my dad. He's silly. I can assure you, that is most definitely what he was thinking! :lmao:

WOO, I loved these updates for 2 reasons:

1. More BLT/Contemporary pictures. As you know after my little "update" I am clearly counting down the days until we can book for next spring break. I hope BLT is still available then. YAY!!! I'm so glad your opinion is changing about the Contemporary! It's really just WONDERFUL. I can't wait until you can actually book it!!

HAHAH YES! Don't even worry about it, we own all the seasons too! WHAAAAT YOU MET STEPHANIE TANNER?!?!?! Jealous!!!

Oh my gosh that's so funny! Yall should totally do that! We never even found any rooms when we were there! They seem very well hidden, or something! :confused3

Thank you.

Hahaha thanks girl! I'm glad you liked it!

OH RIGHT? Ugh he is just ridiculously good looking. I actually think he gets better with age. SIGH.

I'm guessing Steve had a secret job voicing a character and forget to tell everyone?? :rotfl: NO, THANK YOU!

I loved your Full House tour of the Grand Floridian!!!! Too bad John Stamos didn't ACTUALLY show up and serenade you! (Maybe if you were eating Greek yogurt he might have though... :rotfl: ) That episode really is ridiculously unrealistic, but I love watching it anyways!!

Oh my gosh! Why didn't I think of that sooner? Sara, where were you when I was about to get on the monorail! You should have reminded me to not forget my Greek yogurt... sigh. :rotfl2:

HAHA yes, it really, really is. It's too much fun though!

I'm so glad you're posting now, then! HOORAY!

WOW!! That's so awesome! I really hope you get to stay there! I promise, it's absolutely wonderful! It would be a fantastic location for your 'fabulous' trip! :goodvibes

Thank you so much for reading and posting! I'm glad to have you!

Yayyy thank you! AHH I can't wait for you to stay there! When is that again?? February? AHHH excitement!!!

Aw! I wish I could pin-point my ultimate dream resort... it has been changing so much lately! HAHA they took Kimmy because, "her parents will pay for any trip as long as it's not with them and she stays over on a Saturday night." HAHAHA. :lmao:

Hm... I think the All Stars opened in the early 90's, right? Hahah he had a secret stash nobody knew about! It was all the voice acting he did, surely. ;)

Aww! Thank you so much! Hahaha, I am a trip report writing diva. Aww yeah.

I think you're exactly right... NO ONE!

Wow, that's so amazing! What a wonderful memory! Did you get to stay in the main building and everything?? So lucky!!!

I totally get how you felt at Chef Mickey's! Food is usually number one on my list, but if a character is near.... NO WAY!

Love your Donald Bow! So cute! I'm definitely ordering more soon!

GFla looks gorgeous as usual :) It's so fun to just walk around the grounds like that!

Can't wait to hear about MK!!!

We're loving the videos here! Any Disney we can get is good!

Awww, Chef Mickeys. We really enojyed outraelves there and and can't wait to get back. I have 2 adr's there in Nov, breakfast and dinner, so we should have it covered...:rotfl2:

I vaguely remember the Full House episode your talking about, it's been so long. I should find reruns somewhere, I think Kadence would really enjoy the show. That and Family Matters! Love the Urkele!

I just want to ride the Monorail around the complete loop, is that weird?:lmao:

Looks like you guys had lots of fun! So, basically what your saying with all your BLT pics is that there is absolutely no bad views... Lol. I really want to take the time to explore the Grand Floridian. The Disney episode of Full House was my favorite too...also for obvious reasons! :) The Grand Floridian is my dream resort mainly because of Full House haha. Excited to see how you spend the EMH at MK!!!

(Has anyone else ever wondered how Steve could possibly afford a stay at the Grand Floridian? Life’s mysteries, am I right?) Moving on!

RL thing, I'm @quirkyinwi from Twitter, so this is me on the DIS, yo! :)

Anyway, back to Full House...

So, I watched those 2 episodes AGAIN before we went to Disney last year (and so did my brother). It was only in adulthood that I wondered how he could afford to stay at the Grand Floridian and also who's parent allows them to just fly across the country on a whim to see their girlfriend. My parents would have told me to suck it up!

I love the retro-ness of re-watching those episodes. Like I tweeted to you, my brother and I stalked the piano, Jesse/Becky's room AND Danny/Vicki's table at Coral Reef. No shame, no shame.....:rotfl2:

I'm glad you guys enjoyed your meal at Chef Mickey's! I've never been there, but since there's napkin twirling it sounds like my kinda place.

I can already tell I'm going to spend your entire TR ooohing and aaaahing over the view from the Contemporary. It's just so pretty!

I don't understand how people can go to the Grand Floridian and not make Full House references. I'm sorry John Stamos didn't show. I'm sure he has a good excuse though. He's got greek yogurt to promote and stuff.

If I can remember correctly the famous 5 legged goat is on the side that faces the monorail, and I believe it was on the right hand side of that. I found it once and was so excited that everyone was looking at me like I was nuts (which I probably was).
You'll find it someday!
