"Oh, it's raining..let's stay another day!" - An August 2011 TR - *UPDATE: 9/15*

LOL @ your sister with her way of hiding fear on the HM. Good thing you got into another doom buggie with your mom. I'm sure it was a lot more interesting ride that way :thumbsup2

Wow, you definitely accumulated A LOT of FPs! But that's awesome with those you got to ride Space Mountain TWICE! So nice of your parents to let you use their FP time for the hour (:

Oooooo... Columbia Harbour House looks really good! I really want to go there and that's cool you can look over Fantasyland. I'll have to see if we can get seating up there as well, if I come to check it out (:

LOL @ your heated pictures, ironic that you managed to find every photo op that was radiating lots of heat, but the pictures look great anyway. And I'm sorry about your ice cream dilemma, always next time :thumbsup2

Great picture with Snow White and LOL @ the score differences on Buzz Lightyear (isn't that how it always works) and your sister's uncanny ability to walk into a shot, my best friend is the exact same way :sad2: Not. Cool.

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Yeah it was nice to ride in a different doombuggy.
I know, I love going back at night with fastpasses already..it's great!
CHH is the best, it's nice and quiet..different then other counter services.
We go back to Sleepy Hollow later in the trip. :thumbsup2
Thank you! :goodvibes I'm not very good at those game rides!

A Maelstrom boat about to go down the big, scary drop!
30.jpg

I'm so glad you posted this- you just triggered a memory for me. I had remembered riding this as a child. i was okay with it one year, but it freaked me out on the following trips. When i first rode it as an adult, i couldn't remember what had scared me about it. it was that very view. after seeing that, i was convinced that we would go down that!

we are planning on staying at port orleans next trip, so i'm loving all the pictures!

great job on yout TSMM dash! i've never seen accuracy like that posted on here before!

I'm glad you posted that brownie wiht peanut butter from EArl's. My dh is just mehh about the place, but i really enjoy it. having that to look forward to just may be the thing i need to drag him back there.

Those shoes are called vibram five fingers. i saw people wearing them on our last trip. they looked even crazier than those though. they were black, and i'm not fond of the black sock look with shorts.

Thanks for joining in! :welcome:
The Maelstrom has always scared me, but it was the trolls. I finally looked this year and it wasn't that bad, haha!
TSMM is fun! we always get on quickly, but we don't run..most of the runners want fastpasses.
Yeah the brownie with peanut butter lured me in! Hopefully it works with your DH! :thumbsup2
Those shoes are interesting..I'm glad I took a picture of them..discretely of course! :upsidedow

Nice pictures of the Hall of Presidents! Haha, there is so much I want my picture taken with but I usually don't because it's so hot. It should be better in November though. ::yes::
Aww, that's too bad they couldn't make you a Liberty Swirl Slush. I had my first this last trip and it was SO good. I had it while watching The Magic, The Memories, and You! :cloud9: Definitely try again your next trip!
WOW, your dad's score! I can never even see what I'm aiming at on that ride, I only go on it to spin it around and annoy my mom...:rolleyes1

Thank you! :goodvibes Yeah, November will be much better for you!
I actually had a slush on the last night of the trip *spoiler alert* :)
I know..he's crazy..he's gotten higher than that too. I think his high is 700,000! And of course he gets to control the spinner, so all the good targets are on his side..but either way I can't see what I'm aiming at either!

Day 3 - Part 3
I left off with us going back to our room and resting. After resting, we went over to The Boardwalk so we could go over to Epcot from there. In theory this is a good idea because when you walk over from The Boardwalk you enter right by the World Showcase, but it's very hot walking over.
We drove from POFQ to Boardwalk, which shouldn't have been a long drive, but DDad made a wrong turn so we took the grand circle tour of WDW. Needless to say DDad was not happy. But eventually we made it to the Boardwalk!
Img_8474.jpg

Img_8476.jpg

We originally planned on walking from The Boardwalk to Epcot, but instead we decided to take the boat over.
'The Friendship' is the boat's name:
Img_8477.jpg

When we arrived at Epcot, we wanted to get some dinner. DDad & DSis walked over to Mexico and DMom & I went over to China. I love China's quick service, it's so delicious!
Img_8478.jpg

DMom & I both got the same thing. Orange Chicken with rice:
Img_8479.jpg

We split this side of egg rolls:
Img_8480.jpg

Red bean ice cream for dessert! YUM!
Img_8481.jpg

I'm not really sure what DDad and DSis got in Mexico, but the said it was really good!
After we finished eating we went over to meet DDad & DSis in Mexico to look in the shops there:
Img_8482.jpg

I bought two pairs of earrings in one of the stores and DSis bought a bracelet.
We didn't really look around too much in the World Showcase, but we did go over to Futureworld after that.
Img_8483.jpg

DDad, DSis, & I rode Test Track using the single rider line:
Img_8484.jpg

Then DSis & I went over to the monorail to take one over to Magic Kingdom so we could use some of those fastpasses!!
A few pictures from the monorail:
Img_8485.jpg

Img_8486.jpg

Img_8487.jpg

We had to change monorails at the Transportation and Ticket Center, but they come so quickly so it wasn't a big deal.
We went through the Contemporary on the way to MK.
Img_8489.jpg

Img_8491.jpg

Img_8493.jpg

Img_8494.jpg

While on the monorail we drove into rain..you could actually see the rain in the distance and then we drove into it. It really amazed some guy in our car, he was pretty excited saying, "Whoa! Did everyone see that? That's so weird!" I think it made his whole trip!
It stopped raining, but the clouds were pretty dark! As soon as we got into MK we went over to meet the Princesses! I've been waiting to do this all trip! I love meeting them!! :upsidedow
Cinderella, she wanted to me to pose like a Princess with my hand like that, haha.
Img_8499.jpg

Next was Belle. She was interesting she had a New Jersey/Long Island accent. It was strange seeing that. Last year I met a Cinderella with a thick Southern accent. I always think it's so weird seeing characters with accents.
Img_8502.jpg

Then was Sleeping Beauty, she was a really good Sleeping Beauty.
Img_8506.jpg

After meeting them, they let you out in a nice Princess shop, where DSis tried this on:
Img_8507.jpg

As we got out of the shop it was just starting to rain so I put my camera away. So, sadly I didn't take anymore pictures for the night..but I do have my notes so I know what we did!!
We went over to go ride Space Mountain in Tomorrowland. There are two sides of this ride queue, Alpha & Omega. If you are 'lucky' enough to get chosen to go on Alpha, your wait will be at least 10 minutes longer! Luckily this was the only time this trip we had to wait on Alpha, all the other times we got on Omega.
Then we went to ride the Transit Authority because it was raining and there really wasn't much else we could do.
After that, we put on our ponchos and walked over to Fantasyland. We wanted to wait until it stopped raining so we could maybe use out Splash Mountain & Big Thunder Mountain fastpasses.
On our way to Fantasyland, we passed the Enchanted Grove. There, I got a Raspberry Lemonade slush, since I couldn't get the Liberty slush before. This was delicous though! The people behind me on line said they were going to get something else, but after seeing my slush they ordered slushes!
We walked around and went in a bunch of shops and finally the rain slowed down to a drizzle. So, we went over to Frontierland and luckily Splash Mountain AND Big Thunder Mountain were open!! :woohoo:
First we rode Splash Mountain because it's nice when it's a bit darker for Big Thunder Mountain. We got the very last row of the log so I though we would get soaked, but we really didn't get wet at all!
Then we rode Big Thunder Mountain and were near the back, which was great because the back goes so much faster!
We successfully did the 'Triple Mountain Whammy' all in one night!! :goodvibes
After we rode these rides we went over to the bus stops to go back to POFQ!

Coming Up: Animal Kingdom (there's more pictures next time, I promise!)

What a great day! I loved hearing about rope drop. I've never been, but we might make a rope drop on our next trip. I like riding in the very back of BTMRR, too.

Meeting the princesses looks like it was fun. I agree it would be odd to hear a princess with an accent.:rotfl:

I love the pictures you got on the Monorail back to MK. I almost felt like I was right there.

I have read good things about the red bean ice cream, but I'm a little afraid to spend money on it and not like it. I will get brave one of these days, though, because it sounds interesting. The orange chicken looks good.

I love your Friendship boat picture, because I can see Beach Club back there. :cool2:

That Orange Chicken looks yummy, I think I'll be using a CS credit on that next trip! :thumbsup2
LOVE your pictures from the monorail. :lovestruc That's so funny about the guy who was amazed by the rain - that would probably be my reaction too. :lmao:
Cute pictures with all the princesses! Belle from NJ would be very interesting...:scared1:
Alpha is on the left side, right? I hate when I get that side. :sad2:
Triple Mountain Whammy :lmao: That just made my day. I love Stacey references!

Figures the one time you stay dry on Splash is when its already raining:lmao:
A southern accented princess sounds okay to me, but not a jersey accented princesses. wonder if that's becuase i'm from the south?

That is pretty smart to take a bus over to the BoardWalk to get to EPCOT, not having to get stuck in the long lines at the front of EPCOT ugghhhh... but sorry about your dad getting lost, at least you didn't "leave" WDW :scared1:

I really need to check out the China QS. I love Orange Chicken and I've herd MANY good things about the Red Bean Ice Cream, so another thing to keep me occupied there :goodvibes Though, I probably will get distracted by the Mexico QS, the food there is super good (:

Great pictures with the Princesses! It is always weird when you run into a face character who has this weird accent that doesn't exactly fit the character yet they have everything else down pat like mannerisms and such. It's still hard to imagine Belle with a New York accent and Cinderella with a southern accent... I won't ponder that for too long...

You do know the reason Alpha is a longer wait is because the track is much longer than Omega. They are identical (mirrored), but near the bottom the run-off area, where they slow down your vehicle is longer so they are able to intertwine with each other. So longer wait with longer ride on the best ride in MK (IMO), it's a plus ::yes::

Oooo... that Raspberry Lemonade slush sounds quite good! I might have to try one, same with the Liberty Slush you've talked about... now there go my snack credits for the day teehee

BTMRR is faster in the back? ... I will have to test that theory out (:

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Thanks! :goodvibes You should definitely try rope drop..it's great!!
I just love the monorail! I could ride it like an attraction..last year I did with my sister, but she started complaining so we go off, haha. :)

Red bean ice cream is very good. I don't think you'd be disappointed in it, it tasted mostly like strawberrry, there are beans in it but you don't really taste them. & the arange chicken was great!
Thank you!! :wizard:
That Orange Chicken looks yummy, I think I'll be using a CS credit on that next trip! :thumbsup2

You should definitley get it, it's great..China is my favorite country to eat in at Epoct!
Yes, alpha is on the right..they make you go in the very hot, long hallway..yeah fun stuff. But 9/10 times you get Omega if you have a fast pass. :thumbsup2
LOL, I was wondering if anyone would get my Stacey reference! :rotfl:
Figures the one time you stay dry on Splash is when its already raining:lmao:
A southern accented princess sounds okay to me, but not a jersey accented princesses. wonder if that's becuase i'm from the south?
oh I know! I actually wanted to get wet!!
I'm from NY and it was still strange hearing a NJ accent from a princess..Souhtern wasn't too bad, it's more princess-y than a NJ one, I guess.
Thank for reading! princess:

Yeah, he thought we did "leave" WDW because we were on a highway..the rest of the family tried to explain to him we couldn't possibly have left WDW because the signs were still purple!
We were going to all eat in Mexico the first day, but ate in Norway instead and then we were all going to eat in Mexico on this night, but DMom & I love the China QS, so we let DDad & DSis eat in Mexico.
Oh that's interestin about Space Mountain..I never knew that. The only small bit of info we heard from a CM was when they had to shut the ride down occasionally because they let too many space shuttles go out at a time and they could crash! and spmetimes they don't even realize they send too many out!! They shouldn't be telling the guests this!!
Yep, BTMRR is defintiely faster in the back..you should try it! :thumbsup2

Day 4 - Part 1

Today was our Animal Kingdom day! We got there a little after 9:00, so we got right into the park. It wasn't very crowded.
DSis and I went right to Expedition Everest. I was a little hesitant riding this, because it seemed a little crazy, but DSis said I would really like so I agreed to go on with her. We got on the stand-by line and it was almost walk-on! It was great. We got on the train towards the back & I LOVED this ride!!! It was so much fun, so we went on again!! After our second ride we went to go meet up with DParents. But first I had to take a few pictures of my new favorite ride!
Img_8510.jpg

Img_8512.jpg

While we were riding EE, DMom & DDad went on one of the treks in AK & they saw these cool animals! They stand up on two legs:
Img_1710.jpg

Img_1713.jpg

And they saw a gorilla:
Img_1717.jpg

They also got fastpasses for the Safari, so that is where DSis & I went over to meet them. On the way to the safari we saw Baloo and he waved to us:
Img_8517.jpg

Then we got to the Safari:
Img_8519.jpg

We got on our Safari and our driver was Bill. He drove very fast. That's what's cool about the safari, it's a different ride depending which driver you get and this one liked to speed, sometimes past the animals!
Here are some pictures I took:
Img_8524.jpg

Img_8525.jpg

Img_8528.jpg

Img_8529.jpg

Img_8542.jpg

Img_8549.jpg

Img_8560.jpg

Img_8569.jpg

We were stopped behind another vehicle because the Rhinos were crossing..here they are walking right next to us!
Img_8570.jpg

After the Safari we headed over to Tusker House because we had a 10:30-ish ADR there for brunch!
Img_8586.jpg

I love character breakfasts, so this was really exciting! We got in quickly and got our picture with Donald, but we didn't buy it, so I don't have it for the TR, but it came out okay.
Then we got seated:
Img_8589.jpg

The waiter told us that Mickey was coming soon so we waited for Mickey to come before we got our food.
Img_8600.jpg

Img_8601.jpg

After we saw Mickey, we went over to get food. They had so many goodies!
Img_8592.jpg

Img_8593.jpg

Img_8594.jpg

Img_8596.jpg

"I had waffles, i had grits, raisin toast with jelly on it, a little OJ, some apple pie & I'm still on a sugar high, but the one thing that i eat like crazy the biscuits and gravy!"
Img_8595.jpg

So, if you're a Lady Antebellum fan, you probably recognize that above quote, but if you're not you probably just think I'm crazy. So if you've never seen it you should definitely check out this video: http://youtu.be/PXsN-J-ASqg It's called 'Biscuits & Gravy'...funny stuff!

continued in next post

Anyway, here's my plate (& no..I didn't even have biscuits and gravy). The apple turnover was very good and so was the bread pudding!
Img_8590.jpg

When we got back from getting our food, some more characters came!
Daisy:
Img_8602.jpg

Img_8603.jpg

Goofy:
Img_8604.jpg

Img_8605.jpg

And then Mickey came back and posed for another picture:
Img_8606.jpg

On our way out, we saw Mickey by the door..idk what he was doing, though!
Img_8599.jpg

Overall, Tusker House was very, very good.. The food was much better than I thought it'd be and the characters were great!
After our meal, we went over to check out the other trek..I'm not a huge fan of the treks, but I went along anyway.
Img_8607.jpg

When we got to the part with the bird watching one flew almost right into DSis and she had a fit and basically embarrassed the entire family, so I escorted her out and we went over to Camp Minnie-Mickey because we wanted to see the Festival of the Lion King show.
Img_8608.jpg

Img_8609.jpg

As we entered, we saw that Thumper & Miss Bunny were out! Yay!
Img_8614.jpg

Img_8610.jpg

IDK, why DSis took the picture this way..there's so much room on top!?
Img_8613.jpg

Then, we had some extra time before the show, so we went over to meet Minnie, since she wasn't at Tusker House.
IMG_8616.jpg

Donald didn't have a line either!
Img_8618.jpg

Then we could start lining up for the Festival of the Lion King!
Img_8623.jpg

Before the show started they picked out people from the audience to teach each section how to make noises like the animals.
This guy, Keith, was the lucky one from the warthog section.
Img_8629.jpg

I don't remember the kid's name or the section he was from:
Img_8631.jpg

We were in the elephant section and the guy from our section was also named Keith!
Img_8632.jpg

Then was the giraffe section..this little girl, Cheyenne, was picked:
Img_8633.jpg

Now that we all knew our sections, the show could start!!
Img_8635.jpg

Img_8645.jpg

Img_8649.jpg

Img_8659.jpg

Img_8664.jpg

I love this show, it's great!!

Coming Up: More AK & DHS for the evening!

OMG - Tusker House breakfast looks so good! It's on my list of places to try.

So glad you liked EE! You must try front row next time you go - its amazing.

Very cute pictures of you and your sister. LOL to the bird episode. Glad you got her over to FOTLK before she embarrassed you anymore. :rotfl:

That biscuit and gravy spoof was cute. Thanks for posting it!

cool update. tusker house looks delicous. i love your safari pictures to! :)
Thank you! Tusker House was great! (:

You should definitely try Tusker House..it was very good! :thumbsup2
We rode in the front row later on in the trip..it was my favorite because when you stop at the broken track, you see so much moe of the view it seems.
yeah it was pretty embarrassing. :sad2:
Thank you for reading!! :goodvibes

Ooooo... Tusker House looks really good. I see Mickey Waffles! :goodvibes I was thinking about that place as a restaurant to check out in AK since I didn't look into there too much. The Oatmeal, the Apple Crisp and the Potatoes look delicious! :thumbsup2 Great character photos too, I love the one where Mickey is looking out the window, looks like he is searching for Wildlife =D

Glad to hear you liked Expedition Everest! I was apprehensive when I first went on that ride, but it's now my favorite ride. It seems the rides that scare me the most on my first ride are my favorites  I'm strange.

Awwww... I love your pictures at Camp Minnie Mickey! So sweet of Miss Bunny to give you a flower, very cute (: And that's great you got to meet Minnie and Donald since you didn't get pictures with them at Tusker House or saved pictures with them.

Oooo... FotLK looks really fun, I definitely want to go see it and that's cool they pick one person to represent each section, my goal will totally to be picked in my first show :teeth:

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum
